Reddy HEATER R115 115,000-BTU PORTABLE KEROSENE FORCED AIR HEATER - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I have 100,000 btu kerosene gibson heater and it
I had same issue would blow out blue smoke on and off with the cover on . Ran good with the cover off . Checked all the lines made sure all tight and clean .
When I checked the fuel filter it had some resistance not very much so I sprayed it with carb cleaner and blew it out with compressed air and heater is working fine now . It open up about 50% more air flow which is what it needed with the vacuum fuel system .
Reddy heater 165,000 runs for approx 15 to 20 min.
There is a sensor in the tube that is a safety feture. it is a snap disc it maybe faulty, it is reading that the tube is to hot and shutting down, it cools and works again, check snap disc and also they need pleanty of fresh air.
When unit is plugged in it just hums then breaker
Hi, If the motor hums and trips breaker it is froze up, or shorted out. When they lock up like that, they draw a lot of amps which in turn trips the breaker. There is not much you can do but try and remove this motor and replace it. It may be worth it as I am sure the price tag on this heater is not cheap. You can try and get to the motor and see if maybe it is just stuck, as I have had this happen before and get it to work again. More then likely, it has died out on you. Please let me know what you find and keep me posted.
Sincerely,

Ready heater forced air runs few minutes then shuts off
Sounds like a full services like its getting too much air,and blowing out the flame. Check your fuel filter, and add a new spark plug ,also change the vanes on the pump, thus aFuu service. these sould be performed every fall before .
Reddy heater shuts off when shell is put on
check out the fuses getting blown out on the internal chip circuit board and also the overheating component on that same circuit boasd.the burnt component will look little bit extra blackish on its sides.
My reddy heater will run for a minute and then quit ?
Checkfor an air leak somewhere in the system. Just the slightest little bit will cause this kind of problem. Possibly a loose fitting air line, or a crack in the burner head- Doesnt take much of a leak. Best way is to use soapy water and just look fr the bubbles. Watch out for the fan blades!!!!!!!!
Heater won't start
Thanks for your question,
Sounds to me like you have a faulty fan in the unit, could be stuck, or might be a bad fan motor, try unplugging it first, find something to insert where the fan is and try spinning the blade, if its stuck or has alot of resistance, then you have a bad motor, if its free spinning, then try plugging it back in and see if it works, sometimes just by manually moving the motor shaft it frees it to work, if it still doesnt work, then you might look at replacing the fan motor, or replacing the unit, hope this helps ya,
