When we restart the engine after a sail, sometimes
When you starts the engine, the batttery load goes to the engine to start. The voltage temporarily drops to your electronics below its operating threshold and they shut down momentarily. This resets your data. Make sure all your battery and engine connections are clean and tight. if this does not help you may need a seperate battery for your electronics.

I would recommend upgrading the E80 and the DSM to the newest software levels:
E80 - 5.52
DSM - 4.12.
You can download the software off raymarine.com and load them onto different compact flash cards. Both softwares are upgraded through the E80 display.

My Raymarine ST6001+ says no signal.
if the ST 6001 shows "no data" and alarms, the course computer is most likely bad. Control head failure is very uncommon, hower you should look at the brain box (T400) and move the control head to the other seatalk terminal (there are two)
you may have just one failed SeaTalk port and can use it as is, otherwise, Raymarine will still fix (this week)

The Raymarine ST8002 Smartpilot the unit powers up but does not work when the auto mode is selected. The hydraulic motor does not engage when a course is set. What could be the source of the fault?
According to a post on the Raymarine forum, this error message could indicate an issue with either the steering, the drive unit, the rudder reference unit (if fitted), or the course computer . The post suggests a few tests that you can do yourself to figure out which item is causing the issue.
I suggest that you try the following steps:
Check the connections between the ST8002 SmartPilot and the other components of your autopilot system.
Check the calibration of the ST8002 SmartPilot and the other components of your autopilot system.
Check the hydraulic fluid level and the hydraulic pump pressure.
Check the hydraulic pump motor and the hydraulic pump solenoid valve.
If none of these steps work, I recommend that you contact Raymarine customer support for further assistance.

How do I connect my garmin 741sx with my raymarine St 4000 with nmea 183
To connect your Garmin 741sx with your Raymarine ST 4000 using NMEA 183, you will need an NMEA 0183 interface cable to connect the two devices. Here are the steps to follow:
- Obtain an NMEA 0183 interface cable that has the correct connectors for your Garmin 741sx and Raymarine ST 4000.
- Connect one end of the NMEA 0183 interface cable to the NMEA output of your Garmin 741sx.
- Connect the other end of the NMEA 0183 interface cable to the NMEA input of your Raymarine ST 4000.
- Configure your Garmin 741sx to output NMEA 0183 data. Refer to your Garmin 741sx manual for instructions on how to configure NMEA output.
- Configure your Raymarine ST 4000 to receive NMEA 0183 data. Refer to your Raymarine ST 4000 manual for instructions on how to configure NMEA input.
- Once both devices are configured, the data from the Garmin 741sx should be transmitted to the Raymarine ST 4000 via the NMEA 0183 interface cable.

Raymarine c120 classic intermittent no data source
"Finally convinced him that **your** specs requiring the 4c cable at those lengths was correct"
You know we are Fixya and not Raymarine? We just have a Raymarine category for handy filing of questions and answers.
This question needs a factory service department technician on the phone.
As a boat owner, who doesn't have radar, and reading your post carefully, I would suggest the connection at the top of the mast. It is far more hostile up there, and it has been up there a long time.
