You need to check first that the output drive semiconductors aren't overheating and malfunctioning, this indeed sounds like a thermal issue? If not that then check the motor, it maybe overheating? Also I am fairly sure you have a? bad battery, too, this is evidenced by what you relate and to how the battery acts when used and recharged. I suspect, that these batteries, well one or both have developed a "Memory" and as such are failing, to deliver full power and recharge properly. I think new batteries will make things work properly again.

I have a copilot w/
Yes this sounds like the remote add-on is having issues, or the receiver portion of the remote add-on at least. Hopefully it is still under warranty and you can get it replaced at no cost.
Thanks

My Johnson Escape boat w/ Minn Kota engine stopped running
I've had the same problem. It steams from the control panel. I took and ran a seprate ground wire directly to the motor. This is simple to do and takes 15 minutes. Starting in the battery compartment feed cable into the split-loom and continue feeding until reaching the control panel. Pull an extra 5 foot of cable and open dry hatch in rear by motor feed cable around and out to motor connections., Good time to replace rotary switch and circuit breaker. These also are trouble-some parts.

I have a Minn-kota 35C electric trolling motor
I have located switches for a trolling motor. Click this to
check. And also there is a specific third party department who caters specifically to trolling motors. You may want to check their site and contact them for more information. Here is the
site. I hope that helps.

With a new Minnkota Endura for the grankids, I'm
you can buy a universal extension set from a boat supply store and some autopart stores. the fuse and holder would have to be installed separately. sometimes this is not recommended by some manufacturers though.make sure you use the proper guage wiring to prevent the wiring from heating up. also call the 800 number on the motor to see if the company offers a manufacturer approved kit. good luck.

Diagram of 36 volt hookup for trolling motor
To get 36 volts, number batteries 1 thru 3. connect pos 2 to neg 1, connect pos 3 to neg 2, connect pos 1 to trolling motor controller and neg 3 to ground on trolling motor.
This is only a solution for 3 battery system.
For 4 battery system, connect 4 to 3 pos to pos and neg to neg.

Have a 3 hp. minn kota, prop wont turn, hard to
I have the same trolling motor and the same problem.
It seems the factory grease gets hard inside the motor where the shaft spins and acts like glue. I removed the long screws, carefully pulled the case apart, cleaned out the old grease (which was more like hard plastic) and packed the bearing area with lithium grease. I also lubricated the "O" rings and they were not damaged or brittle so I re-used them and put the unit back together being careful to tighten the screws properly. I have had no problems since. Also be sure to check the connections to the battery, for some reason that motor is very sensitive and wants a really good connection to the battery posts and sometimes all you need to do is re-tighten the connection if the motor does not run at all.
By the way, I contacted Minn Kota regarding the 3Hp and was told "hp" stands for high performance and the motor is not 3 Horsepower.
