Reddy HEATER RLP30 30,000-BTU PORTABLE LP PROPANE FORCED AIR HEATER - Page 3 Questions & Answers
I have a 115 reddy heater that runs off diesel and kersone it will run for about five minutes then shuts off
Jerry Mcgee answered this question here on FIXYA..
If a drop of water passes through the system and causes a momentary flameout condition, the photocell tells the control board to shut down- and it does. The photocell has done it's job. The ignitor only gets red for the first 5 seconds of burn-time, then the flame keeps itself going, at least until the water passes. Since water doesn't burn the flame goes out and there is nothing to restart the flame.
Can I use stove oil (diesel) in my 70,000 BTU Reddy Heater?
the fuel to use will be on the specs plate attached to the unit as different fuels have different calorific values using different fuels for which the unit has been designed to use will cause smoke and other operational problems
if there is no specs plate attached , contact the manufacturer and get the details from their engineers
Reddy heater 75 125000 propane heater. Fan comes on, have spark, smell propane and still won't fire
There are couple possible reasons your unit refuses to fire; some units tjis big have to be level, this is a saftey feature bulit in if it is not level, it will not fire, ( it believes it has been tipped over), the smell of propane could also mean it has a leak on your line connection ( bad fitting, not sealed properly), finally check the temperature sensor may be bad and need replacing......
