Wall heater not working properly--sputtering blue flame

Ok, either your fuel pressure is too low or too high.. When you light the unit, Light it in low, then turn it up slowly Just crack open your tank valve.about1/4 turn. The air in the tubes has to be displaced with gas before you get a good flame

The unit will not light the 1st (low) panel only.

A sign of too much pressure. !st panel is way to rich to ignite. 2&3 have a better chance of getting enough air. You've heard of air fuel ratio I'm sure. This the issue here I ieve.

I have a Daton Fuel trimmer furnace for my garage.

On the thermostat see if it has a setting for fan on auto and off try turning the fan on then see if it comes on, if it does then it may be your thermostat has failed if it does not turn on then reset the circuit breakers to see if you have a breaker kicked off. If it was wired properly there should be one near the unit and one in the main breaker panel so be sure to reset both. To do this you must force the breaker switches all the way off then all the way on. On some breakers if you do not force it to the off position it will not reset the breaker. If this does not help let me know and I will try to help you some more just replay to the e-mail you get go to the bottom of the page and post add comment

Heater won't stay lit.

Change out the thermocouple, this will take care of the pilot problem. Very easy to take out and change. This is what keeps the pilot on and when it fails, no pilot. Sincerely, Shastalaker7
