I have a PRO100 Reddy Heater would not stay lit

I had the same problem. Heater was propane with a long hose for movement.

I put the heater on my garage work bench and the thermocouple tested okay.
Tried to restart and it ran like a champ. Reassembled bottom panel, retested great.
When I set it on the floor, it went out! Hmmmm.

Restarted back on the benck. Great. No good on floor....Very cold (28 F) in the garage.

Think the propane might be going liquid in the hose...when heater hose has a "drip loop"
it works fine.

Maybe this is nuts, but it works keeping the heater up a bit on a STABLE surface.

I have a rlp100 heater that works well but now has

The smell is unburned propane and the burning of the eyes is caused by carbon monoxide. My heater (RLP100) does the same and I was able to measure the carbon monoxide at 95 ppm (deadly). I have yet to figure out what exactly is happening. Tried a new regulator/hose from a new unit - no help. Also pulled apart the burner nozzle and cleaned the holes - helped a bit. Next step is the valve.

I just bought a 30K

You need to ventilate this area while the units running! This is potentially a lethal situation!
You are competing with a flame for oxygen and breathing the carbon monoxide gasses
from the heater! Both unacceptable scenarios! you can easily die in this environment!
I cannot stress this enough! You need to open a window or crack the door enough to allow air to circulte and gasses to vent out and escape, If the burning of eyes is really bad your unit may not have sufficient combustion air, I can t tell you without seeing it precisely, you better vent that room though!

My heater worked fine for a few months last year

Hi,

Check for an air filter....many of these heaters have an air filter that gets dirty or clogged and then they will do just what you are describing her....

also take an air hose and blow out everything....

What you have there is an air/fuel mixture problem...
you are not getting enough air to the burner... most like because of dirt...

The only other explanation would be that the blower is no longer running at full RPM's....

You could also try to get some oil on the shaft of the motor to lubricate it and get it running back to full speed again...

Check the fan blades for dirt also...

I have a reddy heater 200t and i can not get it to

As stated by 1132ded.jpg SRF518 The light at the switch indicates power to the switch- and that's all. You must start troubleshooting by checking current flow PAST the switch. The problem could easily be a defective switch or a defective thermostat.

I have reddy pro 100 lp gas heater when i run it

are you using it in a closed room? you should be using it where there is air circulation. what's happening is the heater is using up oxygen and is producing carbon monoxide which is poisonous and if you are not careful IT WILL KILL YOU!

Burning eyes, can't breathe.

These produce large amounts of carbon monoxide, so you essentially are poisoning yourself. Leave the garage door open part way when using it.

Everything works fine except the

Just remove the end of the thermocouple from where is goes into the gas valve and leave the end that goes into the flame in place.

Clean the end of the thermocouple connect by scraping off just a little metal from the end just about there the nut tightens the thermocouple into the gas valve. After you have exposed some new metal do the same inside the valve where the thermocouple seats into the gas valve.
Use a small pic or similar item to scrape inside the gas valve to expose some new metal there also.

Now reassemble the thermocouple into the gas valve and see if the unit works when you release the button.

Here is a link with some more instructions.

If this does not work you may need to purchase a new thermocouple.
You can purchase the new part at www.allpartsinc.com

R100 reddy heater, low pressure forced air heater.

The R100 is a kerosene heater and the RLP100 is a propane heater so I am not sure when one you have.
If it is kerosene then you may need to check the pump pressure. Also the Safety swith can give you a cut out after 30 seconds.

If the unit is Propane then you could have a bad control board or a flame sensor.

You can call our service department at 1-800-475-5660

Thanks

I have 3 natural gas fire places. i would like to

Hello,
Typically gas log sets are factory made for either natural gas or propane. If you want to use them on propane you need to find out if a LP conversion kit is available for your brand/model #. Ask the place where you bought them or ask the company that installed them (if you didn't put them in yourself). If they can be changed over to propane, then you will need to buy the propane tanks, regulator and gasline or just have your local propane company put in a pair of 100# cylinders for each fireplace (or 420# cylinder to service all 3 fireplaces) with an auto-switchover regulator. They can also do the conversion, if the conversion kits are available. Let me now if you have any other questions. Douglas

Dear sir i have a

First off, yes you can convert it to propane. The difference is that the orifice, which should be in the conversion kit, has a smaller hole for the gas to pass through and needs to be changed. Secondly, the air consumption on propane is greater than that of natural gas and for that reason you need to open the air venturi, usually to the max to allow the largest amount of air to enter. Don't overlook the pilot light as well, it also needs to have a different orifice installed. You can find new orifices and/or conversion kits at the store where you buy your propane, assuming it's not a big box retailer. Go to a local propane supply location for the parts. Another option is to go directly to the manufacturers home page and order the propane orifices.
