Simplicity Type S Sport Vacuum Cleaner Bags 6 Pack Questions & Answers
I turn it on and nothing happens,
I would double-check the seating of the bag. Some machines have a lockout switch that keeps you from running the vac with a bag incorrectly installed (which would then suck dirt into the motor).
Removing an obstruction in the vacuum's pipe system
Here are some methods you can try to remove that pesky sock:
Using a Coat Hanger:
Turn off your vacuum and unplug it for safety.
Straighten out a wire coat hanger, ensuring it has no sharp edges or points.
Carefully insert one end of the coat hanger into the vacuum hose.
Gently maneuver the coat hanger around, trying to hook onto the sock.
Once you have a good grip on the sock, slowly pull it out of the hose.
Remember to exercise caution to avoid damaging your vacuum cleaner or injuring yourself.
Vacuuming in Reverse:
Locate your vacuum cleaner's exhaust port.
Disconnect or detach any accessories from this port.
Attach your vacuum cleaner hose securely over this port.
Turn on your vacuum cleaner and let it run for several seconds.
The reverse airflow created may dislodge and push out the stubborn sock from within the hose.
Seek Professional Help:
If both methods fail, consider contacting a local appliance repair service or reaching out directly to the manufacturer of your specific model.
Trained professionals can offer expert advice or perform repairs if needed.
Remember to turn off the vacuum and unplug it before attempting any disassembly or cleaning.
My simplicity 7 series upright doesnt stay upright
The pedal has probably worn on the end where it latches into the notches on the body of the vacuum. This is very common with this Model after after many hours of use. Most likely your model is between 5 and 20 years old but may still have many years left. Go to your Simplicity dealer and buy a new pedal if it's worn.
My simplicity wont lock and stay upright
It could very depending on the model but on most models the pedal will wear on the area that latches the body of the vacuum after 5 or 10 years of use. The pedal is not very expensive to replace. Inspect this area and all parts of the pedal and where it latches. Sometimes it just needs to have some screws tightened up.
Why would my simplicity vacuum hose not work? the sweeper itself works but cannot use the attachments?
If the hose is partially clogged it could cause it to not have much suction but may still seem to be vacuuming properly because the brush roll is agitating the carpet. Depending on which model you have if there is no suction at the hose end there is likely none at the floor. If your model is a tandem air it could still be in the hose or in the valve where switch from floor to the hose. The valve can get plugged and it may still vacuum floors very well because the direct air motor is still blowing a lot of air to clean the floor but the clean air motor is not providing any suction. If you have a tandem air model it may be best to take it to your local Simplicity or Riccar dealer for repairs.
