My Vacuum keeps cutting off
You probably have a clog that is overheating your motor and tripping the thermal cutout. Check all air hoses and inlets for clogs. If all of your air pathways are clear, you most likely have a bad motor bearing, also indicated by a high-pitched squealing sound. If that's the case, it would require a motor replacement; which is not usually economically feasible.

No power shut off while running.
Could you please rephrase your question. I don't understand it. If you mean that the vacuum won't shut off, just pull the plug. Joking. It's in the switch, that will have to be checked, cleaned and maybe replaced.

My vacuum is not picking up as much as it use to and is only a year old
Check if the bag is full inside the vacuum cleaner. If you have a bagless vacuum, check to see if the chamber that holds the dirt is full and if so empty it.Also check the filter inside the vacuum. The location of the filter may vary depending on your model of vacuum, refer to the manual or google it.

Roller not turning when vaccuming
just had the same exact issue with mine - took everything apart - found that the swivel roller brush wasnt turning. it was not any belt issues or motor issues. took out brush roller - held in my hand by holding just the hand cap still - and tried turning the roller with my other hand. roller would not turn at all but is supposed to with no effort. on some models the end caps pop off but most are one piece and are just discarded and a new roller bought - seems to be $10-$20 for one for most dirt devils and under $10 shipping in north america. you can try something down the side of the roller and end cap like a razor - i did cut lose some crud and it works - but roller still stops on 2 of 4 settings on the rug because of this. i've already ordered a new one.

Connecting hoses
You can boil the end of the hose in water to make it swell enough to fit

DD featherlight bagless is not
Hi mjblatin,
Firstly, look if any dust or hair may be clogging up the air passage, by turning it upside down.
Use a flexible long straw to see if it is clear. If not clear, try to take out as much fluff and hair as possible, tweezers and a long nose pliers work best.
Secondly, the brush roller may have lost the belt that turns it, it could have either broken or fallen off. Turn it around, and turn the Vacuum on, do the brush at the bottom turn? If not, that may be the case.
In that case the head should be able to come apart for better cleaning, and to re-adjust the belt, or to replace it. It should be fastened by screws at the bottom of the head.
Kind Regards
