Vicks hot steam cord gets really hot

My cord is also getting very hot after being plugged in for just a few minutes. Is there a cause for concern here? It's not even a year old, bought in January of 2022.

Why does my humidifier make the floor all wet

You may be over filling the unit. Take the refillable water tank out and with the power removed try to remove all the extra water where the tank goes. check for anything that looks cracked inside the unit the best you can. If the tank is seating properly it should not leak. If it is filled properly it should not leak.

My vicks vaporizer makes a gurgling/bubbling noise but the water isn't even hot so is that normal? What can I do to fix it?

if possible try and check the lines or hoses that run from the wat er supply to the point where the steam comes out. It is very possible that the lines are clogged with water deposits. Thats why most of the time they suggest that you use distilled water in your vaporizer. hop this helps. Lynn

What is the voltage and wattage of vicks warm steam vapouriser made in Mexico

It should be rated at 120 volts ac. The wattage will be molded into the bottom of the unit (on the underside). If it instead shows the current in amperes, multiply the amperage shown by 120 volts to obtain wattage. I.E. if for example the appliance it is rated at 8.3 amps, take 8.3 x 120 = 996 watts

Can I use Vicks v188 when the air conditioner is switched on

Depends on whether they are on the same circuit or not. Most small air conditioners draw enough power that they need to be on their own circuit. And it's best if a steam humidifier is the only appliance on it's own circuit. If they are on separate circuits, it they should be fine. If they share the same circuit, look at the amperage of both (as shown on the appliance listing label, add them up. They must NOT exceed 12 amperes for a 15 amp circuit, 16 amperes for a 20 amp appliance circuit. If either one is listed in watts, just take the wattage listed and divide by 120, which is the wall voltage and you will have the amperage. On air conditioners you are looking for the total wattage, NOT the locked rotor (LRR) or motor amps ratings. Very small window air conditioners can usually share a circuit, if the amperage draw of other appliances is small enough. I doubt that it would work in this case, if you try it the worst that can happen is it will blow the circuit breaker or fuse. This will happen (usually) after a period of time for a circuit breaker or when starting for a fuse.

I cleaned my vicks 5100 series, but it still won't put out a vaper. the green light is on and there is air coming out but no vaper. i also changed the filter and waited still no vaper any hints to

In the bottom of the humidifier is a little disk that vibrates to turn water to vapor. This gets covered in mineral deposits and won't vibrate properly. They usually suggest something like vinegar to clean it. I found that this didn't work for me. What did work was cleaning it with my Waterpic on the highest setting. It chipped away the deposits and allowed it to work. HOWEVER, once you get it running again, buy the slant fin mineral absorption pads to keep it running. If you have mineral-rich water like me, you'll go through them quickly, but you also won't have white deposits on your walls anymore.

My vicks 1.5 vaporizer doesnt put out steam after using 5 times, flaky brown/grey things are in water , why? cant it be fixed

Is it limed up?-- in other words, the Hardness (Lime and Calcium) in your tap water has clogged up the heating coil..) Possibly the little grey things floating in the water, could be the residue from the water, left behind in the process of evaporation. If this is the case-- gently heating and flushing Vinegar water thru the heating section of the Vaporizer, might be necessary every few times,- if your water is that 'hard'!

I live in the Caribbean where the voltage is 220/240 so I need to know what size transformer I need to use with a 5.8amp Vicks vaporizer

Hi, you would need one that's around 1400 watts (watts = volts x amps so 240 x 5.8 = 1392)
I hope that helps.
