Blender blades do not turn when under load, but run smoothly when empty container It is a Vitamix 6300 model

Check the black driving clutch on the top of the motor that engages with the other clutch half on the base of the blender jug. The fault should be there, normally it will be the motor part.

I'm looking for the rubber gasket for the lid on a very old Vitamix 4000. Anyone know where I can find that?

What has worked very well for me in the past in similar situations (not with kitchen appliances but any older item needing a part) is find people selling the item or parts for the item on eBay, and then messaging them asking if they have a source for whatever it is I am looking for. Almost always this leads to what I need, whether it is for a camera or an old watch or a vintage computer or whatever. Messaging through eBay is easy, fast, and free. Simply type Vitamix 4000 in the Search box, and get the listings displayed, and then click on Contact Seller. eBay will send the message, and notify you when there is a reply.

Vitamix variable speed not smooth

Some models had a weakness with the variable resistance in the rotary switch but your description sounds more like the main PCB or even the motor both of which are very expensive parts to replace.

I have a vitamix 5000 unit. Blade assy makes noice ; is loose. Where can I buy the set of bearings for the blade assembly?

You will need to source them from a bearing supply company as Vitamix only supply the bearings as a complete unit with the blade assembled. Once you have the bearings out take the sample with you to the bearing supply company for correct identification.

Vitamix 5000 vm0103. When set to Variable, it does not run at all. Works fine on high. Is there a way to determine whether it's the pentionmeter or controlboard/circuitry by using an ohm meter?

Put your meter across the 2 disconnected potentiometer wires and turn the knob and see if you get the sort of variation you expect to see. The pots do give a little bit of trouble and aren't worth very much, I'd be inclined to throw one in anyway, the very last thing you want it to be is the PCB, they are not cheap.

Each time we use our Vitamix 750 to make soup we get a metallic flavour that is really unpleasant. The only time I haven't had it is when making smoothies. Has anyone any idea what's causing this?

No because there is very little metal in contact with the food other than the stainless steel blade and the stainless fitting below it neither of which should be leaching anything into the food. Have a close look at the blade and the fitting under it for any signs of corrosion. You should write (not an email) to the Company about this issue and maybe they have some explanation because these are expensive machines.

Go here to download it as a PDf file. The 5200 is what I think is most similar to yours. https://www.vitamix.com/Owners-Resources/Product-Support/Owners-Manuals

The drive stud on my vitamix 3600 blender sheared off. When screw is replaced it comes unscrewed when the blender is turned on. Does anyone know if the original design included epoxy weld?

If the motor runs in reverse to an Oster which uses counter clockwise thread then it follows that your thread should not be counter clockwise. If it comes loose when you turn it on surely the thread on the coupling must be faulty because according to your description the action of turning it on can only be to tighten the coupling. Most couplings with a thread that I have seen are counter clockwise so you will probably struggle to find another brand coupling to match.

I have a Vita-Mix blender that is not performing right. Sounds like gear may be striped or slipping in and out of engagement. What can I do?

You may well find a small appliance repairer (not aligned to the manufacturer) locally who will take a look; alternatively, why not risk stripping it out yourself and taking a look?
