step 1
Measure the watch band's length. Every wrist size is different, and there's no need to remove all of the links when you may only need to remove one or two. Putting the watch around your wrist and pinching each link around it to see how much room you need gives the jewelry wearer a reasonable estimate.
Step 2
Open the watch near the link you want to remove. Link watches have several openings, so even if you open the wrong clasp, it can always be reattached.
Step 3
Flick the tip of your fingernail inside the clasp to open the extra links. Continue doing so until you have removed all of the links that are too big for your wrist. If you have short fingernails, try using tweezers or anything with a sharp edge that can easily unfasten a link. New watches tend to be very stiff, so it may take a little nudging, but the links come off. It will be obvious which ones come off and which ones don't by looking at the back of the watch band. The links that come off have a claw on the tip of each one and sometimes have the brand name on top of it.
Step 4
Put the extra links in a safe place. There may come a time that you either let someone else borrow the watch or your wrist swells and you need these links again.

Tips & Warnings
If you can't get the links to open, visit a jewelry repair store. Workers there may be willing to help you adjust your watch for free. If you bought the watch from a retail store, the jewelry counter is usually required to adjust your watch for no additional cost.

They all set pretty much the same. Here is the general walk through from the Cole site:
Press the lower left button on the Kenneth Cole digital watches to cycle through the various modes. Press it three times to get into time mode (the face should be blinking). Press the upper right-hand button to change the seconds. Press the lower right-hand button to select the minutes.

Changing Watch Batteries
Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10!
Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!

Are the hands moving but out of step with the digital display?
If so then try pressing the "mode" button to reach a mode that allows you to set the hands (on my Casio it is "HS"), I would expect something similar on yours.
You can then alter the hands by pressing one of the other buttons. I would expect one button to advance the hands and another to ****** them.
Just enter the number from the back of your watch into the search box, and download the instruction manual. Get manuals for Kenneth Cole, Timberland, Ted ...
Ive heard people say many times to put cell phones in a bowl of dry white rice to remove moisture from them,so Im sure it would work for a watch as well. Just make sure to leave the watch in the rice over night,and make sure to have none of the watch showing in the rice---it will need to pull moisture from within the tiny parts.
