Simpson Apollo can't set clock so oven won't work

I don't know if this will help. For the 720ef , this is what you need to do.
There are five buttons on the clock panel and from left to right they are:- Minute Minder, Cook time, Ready Time, Plus and Minus.
TO SET THE TIME OF DAY
Press the Cook Time button and the Ready Time button simultaneously. Use the Plus and Minus buttons to set the time.(24hr clock).
TO SELECT AN ALARM TONE.
Press the Minus button to listen to the first tone. Release it and press it again to listen to the second tone etc (3 tones)
Releasing the button after the tone has sounded will automatically set that tone.
SETTING THE MINUTE MINDER.
Press the Minuter Minder button and either the Plus or Minus buttons simultaneously to set the time.
You can cancel the timer at any time by setting it back to 00.00 by using the Minus button.
After setting, the display will revert to the time of day, but by pressing the Minute Minder button again, the display will show the remaining time.
If you want all the information, then it is best if you supply a vaild email address and this will give you access to my BT Digital Vault, where you can have a complete copy of the handbook that I have scanned in.

You will probably find that the element for the lower oven has expired. They sometimes do go in a shower of sparks. I once had an element on a hob explode in my face and a small lump of red hot metal flew up and just missed me.
It is easy to get to the circulatin fan and element, you just have to remove the 4 self tapping screws in each corner of the fan/element cover for the cover to come off. If the element has burnt out as you say you should see some evidence of burn marks/holes on the element.
The bad news is that you will have to take the whole oven out of the housing to remove its top and back to gain access to the element retaining nuts and the wiring to unclip/reclip it.
Try espares for a replacement element and if it was a major bang when it went, you should consider replacing the thermostat as well as this is often damaged by the element going.
(The thermostat is the long thin metal rod in the top right hand corner of the oven and is connected to the control by a very thin fragile pice of wire - be careful)!

My Stoves 720EF oven blows the trip when cooling

The fan timer printed circuit board controls the cooling fan and there is also a resistor on the terminal block of the cooling fan. One or both of these could be suspect. If the fan still runs, then the resistor hasn't gone open circuit and is still providing continuity. The only way to prove out the circuit board would be to change it, but that could be expensive especially if it doesn't cure the problem.

How can I bypass the clock on my Stoves Heritage

I think you will find that the clock/timer is an integral part of the oven and so if it is faulty or missing, the oven will not work. Because it controls so many things, I would say it would be easier to buy a new clock.

Can't get the light out

You have to use a blunt bladed screwdriver to prize the edge of the glass cover away from the oven side. You should see a small cutout in the middle of the edge of the glass that is facing you, to put the screwdriver in. When replacing the glass cover, there is depression in the glass to allow for the bulb. Ensure you put the lense back the correct way.

How to remove door on stoves EL716 toop oven

I can only say for the 720. You have to remove the whole oven from the kitchen furniture and then unscrew/remove the top and side panels. You will then see the springs on either side of the door.
Important. Remove the inner glass panel from the door first, before you release the springs.
To remove the springs, ensure the door is closed and then unhook them. You then should be able to remove the door frame.

My Stoves 720EF double electric oven and grill

Hi. Power for the ovens passes through the clock based to the circuit diagram on page 31 of the handbook. The power feed is direct for the actual clock but via a seperate Thermal Cutout for both the top and bottom ovens. I think it is highly unlikely that both Thermal Cutouts have failed at the same time. I would try turning the power off totally to the oven for a while and then turning it back on, set the time and ensure the oven is in manual mode. As the top and bottom ovens have seperate controls after the Programmer and both are not working, it has to be the programmer that is not extending the power through to the rest of the oven.

Grill trips my electrics on Stoves 720EF

I had problems with tripping and it was a faulty RCB on the consumer unit. But it wasn't just one appliance causing the problem.
Have you isolated it to the top or bottom oven. If it is the main oven, then it could be anything associated with the operation of that component, i.e. the oven control knob, the oven thermostat, the element, the element fan, the overheat thermostat all could have insulation that is breaking down that could cause this problem.
Before you go and buy anything and if you have the time and patience and confident enough and know what you are doing, I would remove the oven from the cupboard, take off the top and back covers, note the wiring for the element, take the leads off the element and run the oven with the element disconnected and see what happens. That should prove whether it is the element or anything else.
BE CAREFUL.

Can no longer read the temperatures around the oven knob

On the 720EF the numbers are recessed behind a small glass panel, so I think you are not talking about the same unit. If all else fails, I suggest you buy an oven thermometer from say Lakeland - they are about 4 to 5 pounds and are good. Run the oven, making a note where the marker is and see what temperature the thermometer gives.
Failing that, run the oven with the thermometer in all the time and experiment to see what the control; knob is pointing at for any given temperature.

Oven making whirring noise when switched off

The back panel of the main oven houses the circulating fan. From experience, fat/grease/gunge accumulates and drips down the inside of the plate through the vents. This will then rub on the fan as it turns. There are four self tapping screws, one in each corner of the panel. Remove the screws and the panel will come off. That is the easy bit, getting rid of the grease is harder. Don't forget that the oven side of the panel is a stay clean and shouldn't be cleaned with anything abrasive. I use the Lakeland brush on oven cleaner on ALL the walls of the oven (even the Stay Clean) and it works a treat. It may take some time to disolve the residue and a couple of goes, but it does work.

Fitted new mainoven thermostat to Stoves Newhome

I can only speak for the 720. If you want a circuit/wiring diagram for this one, then I need an email address. I will then register this on my BT Digital Vault and you can the download the whole manual.
Looking at the diagrams, the neon for the main oven has white and black wires.
The white wire from the main oven neon goes onto the same connector on the thermostat block as the white wire to the oven element. The black wire from the neon goes to a common terminal on the top oven neon, which then goes onto P6 of the top oven switch (still black wire).
If you need any more info, then let me know.
