The front bumper cover does have to come loose at the top. Remove the retainers along the top of the front bumper cover on top by the radiator and loose the part of the grill that goes over the headlamp. cover with tape to avoid scratching the lens . then remove the 3 bolts for the headlamp. Two at the top and one down at the bottom inboard side. Then pull the headlamp at the outobard bottom to release the retainer and remove the headlamp.

should be able to access them from within the engine compart ... you may need to remove the battery if it's on that side.... and don't put your fingers on the bulb... that will shorten it's lifespan

Disconnect the electrical coupler behind the headlamp under hood then remove the rubber cover. There's a clip that holds the bulb connector (holder) in place. Desengage the clip and pull the bulb and connector out. The main key is to pay close attention to how the connector was originally positioned to assure proper placement when placed back. Replace the bulb and repeat the process in reverse order.

It's easy to change the bulbs. You don't have to remove the bumper.

To start at the left front, jack up the left front of the car, turn the wheel to the right, remove the plastic plugs and two screws holding the plastic fender liner in place (there are two pieces - loosen the front most piece) and pull it down. You will see the back of the headlight housing. Unscrew the caps and install the new bulbs. Reassemble and repeat on the other side.
