Stoves 60" VULCAN RANGES GAS(CLICK HERE): 60XLFOUR OPEN BURNERS 36" GRIDDLE TOPTWO STANDARD OVENS Kitchen Range Questions & Answers
What is the best way
Wow that is a loaded question. Everybody seems to do it differently. I will give you my two cents. Start with a medium hot grill. Throw on a little clear water and steam off the bigger gunk and scrape it down. (I have heard that sprite or 7-up or ginger ale work real well here too). After that mix together about two cups of water (some people use cooking oil instead of water) and 3/4 to 1 cup of vinegar and pour that on slowly while scrubbing the grill with a Grill Brick (Lava Brick) This is where you are really doing the work. Scrub until clean -- may take a while. When done use a rag dampened with clean cooking oil to wipe down the grill and leave a little sheen on top.
We are cranking up this
older ovens have pilots but the newer machines are electronic ignition, there are ignitors in the oven and electrodes or ignitors on the top burners, when you turn the knob for the burner you should hear a clicking sound and see a spark around the burner, that's what lites the burner, the gas comes in and the spark ignites it,i don't know much about your machine but it can't be any different from other stoves.if none are sparking there should be a spark module in there or they could have separate modules,if you send the full model number i can look it up for you
I have an old Vulcan
Hi- This should have a gas Safety Valve, this is the main valve to the oven (this probably has 2). If you remove the lower panel under the doors they are probably right there. Looks like a large gas valve with a button on it, sometimes the button is red. You need to hold in that button while lighting the pilot and keep holding it in for a few seconds until the thermocouple gets hot enough to tell the valve to keep the pilot on. You'll have to do this for both ovens if there are 2 valves. It's possible the valves are located somewhere else on the range so you may have to hunt a bit. If the pilots still won't stay lit you may need new thermocouples in which case I'd call a Tech out to look at it. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Yes we can help you. We service Vulcan and we love these units. May I begin to telling you that you have a great range?!! This is either your ignitors or the gas valves, but most probably the ignitors out if the pilots keep going out. I will check on the price and availability of all the parts that you need and respond to this request. Could you please send me your email address? We look forward to working with you on this issue.
