M-Audio Studiophile AV 30 Computer Speakers Questions & Answers
How does this hook up to your computer?
connects to audio output in back of computer with 1/8" stereo jacks. also can connect with standard RCA cables but you would need to find an adapter for the back panel of the computer.
it would help if you posted more information about your system.

My m audio av30's only plays out of one speaker
I have just repaired a pair of M-Audio AV30 speakers, with the same problem, low or missing volume form left speaker. This seems to be a common problem. The input capacitor 22uF 25v for the left channel had failed. This is located on the amplifier board, near the edge and near the Phono input sockets. A lot of heat is generated just here, you may see discolouration on the board, from the power supply section. There are two identical capacitors here, one for each channel. They are electrolytic and are polarized. + is marked on the board. Best replace both.

The main speaker with the amplifier on my M-Audio
try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer
have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps

I have the M-Audio Studiophile AV 30 speakers; I
First, check your Green Audio Out Port with a working pair of headphones to ensure that the sound does work and is not muted.
- If the headphones work, plug in your Speakers and make sure the 1/8" Stereo cable is plugged into your Speakers Input Port, not the Headphone Out Port.
- Make sure the power supply is plugged in and connected to the speakers.
- Using the front panel switch, turn on the Speakers and adjust the volume until you can hear sound being produced.
- If they still fail to work, you may have gotten a faulty set of speakers.

Working but the sound is
Check for any dust or moisture on the 3.5 mm Audio Jack that connects the speakers to the PC
Plug out it for once and plug in again after cleaning it
this should solve the problem
