Ps3 not readin disc

Hi,

This is a very problem with the PS3 and is caused by a problem with the laser on the Bluray drive which is malfunctioning and can no longer read the game disk properly.

The PS3 uses a dual laser system. This consists of either a dual refractor type lens or two entirely seperate lenses depending on which pickup is fitted to your particular system. One laser is for reading ordinary DVD disks and PS2 disks and the other for Bluray and PS3 games.

The symptoms you describe are quite typical of a failure of one or both of these lasers.

For more information on how to resolve the problem please have a look at this FixYa Tip on the subject.

Many thanks for using FixYa.

How do i sync my mad catz blue tooth headset to my

You'll need your controller, console, and headset to do this. Make sure your headset is off before you start, then follow these simple steps.

  1. Power on the PS3 console
  2. Within the "settings" menu, press X on "Accessory Settings"
  3. Press X on the icon labeled: "Register Bluetooth Device"
  4. Scroll down and press X on the icon labeled: "Register Headset/Microphone/Headphones"
  5. Prepare the headset to be paried by holding down the main buttong for 8 seconds.
  6. Once the LED flashes blue and red (indicatin the headset is ready to be paried), press X on "Start Scanning"
  7. Once Scan is complete, the PS3 will list all Bluetooth device visisble and within range.
  8. Locate your headset ID, most likely "8860" or something similar, and press X on it's icon.
  9. Enter 0000 (four zeros) as the Pass key and hit OK.
  10. Now enjoy your synced headset!
If any part of this confuses you, you can find the manual for your headset online here. You'll need a PDF reader to view the file. There are plenty of free ones on the web, but if you don't already have one, I'd recommend this one. It's free and simple.

The power button is not the right button to press.

Here is the steps I take:

1. Power on the headset
2. Have PS3 scan for new devices
3. Hit the tiny button that is next to the volume buttons on the top of the headset.
4. PS3 should recognize "8860" and ask for a passkey which is "0000" by default
5. Paired and ready to go

How do you get the ps3 to pick up the blue tooth

Pairing the Headset with the PS3
Before the Headset can be used with the PS3, the two devices must be ‘paired’ so they can communicate with each other. Use a gaming controller for this procedure and ensure that the Headset is powered on (flashing blue LED light) and that it is not being charged via USB cable.

1. Power on your PS3 console.

2. Within the “Settings” menu, press X on “Accessory Settings.”

3. Press X on the icon labeled: “Manage Bluetooth® Devices.”

4. Scroll down and press X on the icon labeled: “Register New Device.”

IMPORTANT: Depending on your model of the 8860 Bluetooth® Headset, your power button is either an oval shape with an icon of a circle with a line going through it (5a) or it is a button with a phone icon (5b). Please follow the appropriate next step depending on your model of the 8860.

5a. Once at the next screen, prepare the Headset to be paired with the PS3 by holding down the K1 button until the LED flashes Blue and Red (hold K1 approx 12 seconds).

5b. Once at the next screen, prepare the Headset to be paired with the PS3 by tapping the pairing button located next to the volume controls on the side until the LED flashes BOTH Blue and Red.

6. Once the Headset’s LED indicator is alternately flashing Blue and Red (indicating the Headset is ready to be paired), press X on “Start Scanning.”

7. Once Scan is complete, the PS3 will recognize all Bluetooth devices within range.

8. Locate “8860” from the list of available devices and press X on its icon to be prompted for a Pass Key

9. Enter 0000 (four zeros) as the Pass Key and press X on OK

10. You should then be taken to a new screen stating: “Register completed”

Trouble Shooting
Q. The PS3 is unable find the Headset.
A. If the Headset has been paired with another Bluetooth device, the PS3 will have trouble finding the Headset. Either remove the Headset from the paired device or turn off the Bluetooth power on the paired device.
