They cannot "not get to" the grinder, the hopper is mounted directly above the grinding teeth. The grinder is probably blocked and you will need to remover the housings and take out the grinder for cleaning and inspection. At home, probably every 12 months. Seals need replacing and moving parts cleaned and lubricated. In my opinion these machines are totally unsuited for home use.
