I have this lock and forgot the pass code. It is unlocked and it has some kind of switch on the back of it. How do I reset ti? US. PAT 5746075 DE. PAT NO.M606494.3 Brinks Lock. Please email me at [email protected] .
If you have both pieces of the broken key, it can be duplicated.
I did not find that key code listed for Brinks, but perhaps you can get one from Brinks. A locksmith can make a key, check the cost. You really don't want to pay more than the cost of replacing the lock.
I think a local locksmith would either be able to make the keys or give you a reason why keys can not be made for your locks. Look up 'locksmith' in your local yellow pages.
Janice the part you are describing is called a snap ring, and it probably is intended to hold the knob assembly together. If you are feeling courageous, you could take the one that was assembled correctly off the door and see if you can locate where the snap ring is supposed to fit. Arguably this is a manufacturing defect, and as the product has a lifetime warranty, I would suggest contacting Brinks. Toll Free: 1-800-562-5625 Your product number is 2103-109.
It likely requires powdered graphite or white lithium grease to lubricate it back to its original condition... or else try WD40 though it tends to be a more temporary fix
If it is not fixed to the wall , drop it on a bed holding the opening dial and as it bounces open it . It took me a couple of goes to get it right but it works
A friend had a similar issue with his lock. After taking the back plate off I found that silver arm that locks into the door handle cam had lost a tiny c clip and come apart. One I reassembled both parts of the arm on the retaining peg using the c clip and put the white spacer ring on top everything looked right. Reassembling the gear section while keeping the round handle return spring from popping off was challenging.
You can open them faster with a rare earth puck magnet that you can putting the combination digits in.

There are also this type of attack but the Lock Picking Lawyer shows the workings. The magnet pulls the solenoid in the same way. It is a low skill attack.
