Clean the Sim seat with cotton wool, and fix the Sim back into it. If that doesn't solve the problem, then it means the Sim card us damaged, you need to visit your service provider to give you another Sim card.

To confirm this, test the Sim card with another phone and likewise test the phone with another Sim.

Got to network store, or Apple store. They can unlock it for you.

Sorry but your LCD needs replacement. Take it to the apple store and see if they'll give you a replacement. If they don't there are third party iPhone Repair Services that can fix it for you. There are also free iPhone Repair guide that show you how to fix it yourself.

try to remove the memory card, if the same problem.. restore it

Update Software with iTunes

It's gonna be better to replace your USB cable becuse that's gonna be a bigger problem when the sync fails or worse, when the software update fails. That could turn your iPhone useless.

Try a reset. Hold down the power key at the same time as the round home key until phone powers down. Release buttons only when you see the apple logo, then wait a min or two for phone to re-boot. You will not lose any data on the phone.
If this does not work, try an actual system reset. Sync iPhone to computer to back up essential data ie contacts apps etc, then go to settings general and reset. Reset all settings as a last resort. This will give you a fresh start and should sort out the majority of any bugs the phone has. A resync with you computer will restore apps etc.

The sim card in your iphone might be bad - you can go to your wireless carrier to check.

Or you can switch sims with some one else to test if it the phone or the sim

- Reseat the SIM card: Remove the SIM card in your iPhone and then reinsert it.

-Restore your iPhone. Note that the computer you are using to restore the iPhone needs to be connected to the Internet and hopefully the one with all your content.

Contact your carrier

- In most cases your carrier will replace at little to know cost if it is damaged
