Loading envelopesYou can load up to 10 envelopes at a time.Warning: Do not use envelopes that have metal clasps, string ties, or metal folding bars.1 Load envelopes in the center of the paper support with the stamp location in the upper left corner.2 Make sure:• The print side of the envelopes faces you.• The envelopes are designed for use with inkjet printers.• The paper guides rest against the edges of the envelopes.
Notes:• Do not load envelopes with holes, perforations, cutouts, or deep embossing.• Do not use envelopes that have exposed flap adhesive.• Envelopes require more drying time. Remove each envelope as it exits, and allow it to dry to avoid ink smudging.
Wonky rollers
look where you load the paper..there should be 1 or 2 freed rollers. With the unit OFF use a cotton swab dipped in alcahol to clean them. When they get dirty, they slip.Squipps
Knocking sound when copying
It could be due to the cartridges or the encoder strip
(transparent strip seated behind the cartridge carrier) has gotten loose from
its position. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix the problem:
- Open the printer cover and
remove the cartridges. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to
the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power
source and then slide the carrier to the center for the loading position.
- Check the encoder strip and make
sure it is secured in its place.
- Close the printer cover.
- Re-brick your printer. Pull out
the power supply (black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back
of the printer) and put it back after 30 seconds.
- When the printer turns on,
reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any
errors.
- If no error appears, reinsert
the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
- Replace whichever cartridge is
causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.
- If no error appears, try to print
a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Problem: Carrier not moving to the loading position
If you're having trouble with the cartridge carrier not moving
automatically to its loading position (to install/replace cartridges) even when
the printer is on and the cover is open, please follow the steps below:
- Unplug the printer from the
power source.
- With the printer cover open,
hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the
ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the carrier to the center of the
printer.
- Open the latch and remove the
used cartridges.
- Load the new cartridges. Close
the latch and then the printer cover.
- Re-plug the printer to the
power source.
- After going through the startup
process, try to print a document to verify that the cartridges are working
and installed properly.
Keep doing alignment
The
problem could be due to a communication failure between one of the printheads
(cartridges) and the All-In One (AIO) or by a short in one if the printheads. Please follow the steps
below to identify and fix cartridge issues:
- Make sure the printer is on.
- Open the printer cover. The
print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless
the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move
to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power
source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
- Remove both cartridges from the
carrier.
- Close the printer cover.
- Re-brick your printer by
pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the
power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
- When the printer turns on,
reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any
errors.
- If no error appears, reinsert
the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
Replace whichever cartridge
is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to
print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
I have a fax in memory how can I retrieve it
Usually, faxes are
temporarily sent to the printer's memory when one of the cartridges' ink level
is not substantial for printing. You are advised to replace the cartridge/s, *without
navigating away from the message "fax sent to memory", by opening
the printer cover and replacing the low-ink cartridge/s. After the new
cartridge/s is installed, close the printer cover and press OK button to let
printer print the fax stored in the memory.
* Make sure not to
navigate away from the "fax sent to memory" message. You will
lose the fax-in-memory data once you turn off the printer or navigate away from
the message.
