Top 20 Saniflo Saniplus Macerating Pump Questions & Answers

Sure hope you got that fixed. If not you can try to make the rubber more flexible with heat, either a towel/rag soaked in hot water and then applied to it for a few minutes or a hair dryer on low blowing on it for a few minutes (be careful you don't burn the rubber).

Your description sounds like plumbing from before bacteria was discovered. The output from a Saniflo macerator should be sent to a foul drain or cesspit and not a rainwater drain.

Some authorities allow local rainwater runoff into foul drains but this situation is gradually being designed out.

Could be your Saniflo installation didn't meet building regulations when it was installed. The fact it has been working fine for 2 years doesn't count for anything if it doesn't.

I experienced this exact same issue last month. I didn't think much of it, but decided to have our residential plumber come and look at it. It turned out that our water was running constantly and that it had to be turned down some. It was a very simple fix. Now, I am not sure whether or not that is your exact issue, but you might want to adjust the levels that your water runs at. There should be a knob behind your toilet that you can twist and turn to do that. However, if that doesn't work you might have to snake it to see if there is anything wrong going on in the pipes. Sorry but they give you 8" for a reason, they did the testing etc. You might get by at 5" but that will probably just get by and limit the service life.

The "tank level" switch is stuck on. You may be able to clear it by cleaning the system/pump with a water hose (outside of course) so you will have to take the system apart then give it a good cleaning. May not help but at least you will have tried.

There is a product called Wham that works very well for this appplication. You will probably have to go to a plumbing supply outlet to find it. Just follow directions on container after you have the system clean and use monthly. It also helps with odor control. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

The sound you are hearing is the check valve.
Usually this valve is just above the pump.
It's nothing to be concerned about, it's a normal
noise, or it's the nature of the beast.

All my best to you.

First possible cause which comes to mind is a failing motor bearing. Try lubricatng the bearing and see if the noise changes.

Second could be the impeller breaking apart.

If the old hose isn't leaking, why change it. They discolour internally due to the type of water you have.
Chalky water makes white calcium deposits and soft water more brownish. Perfectly normal.
