I need to know how to light the oven? Does it have a pilot light like the stove top

most stoves do not have pilot lights but work from a pizo ignition system when you turn on the gas knob ,the first action is to energize the pizo and that continually sparks to ignite the gas at the hob the same is with the oven ovens should be lit with the oven door open and once lit then the door can be closed

Very small flame takes like ten minetes for flame

Hello,

The reason the flame in the oven is so small and takes for ever to heat up is because the oven igniter is weak and can not open the gas valve very much so hardly any gas flows resulting in a low flame size. By replacing the oven igniter the flame will be full size and heat quickly.

I have a galaxy stove

You will first have to make sure you have the conversion kit for it. Sometimes it will come with it and be located on the rear panel or behind the lower drawer. Once you have the kit, lift off the center trim of each burner. you should see a hole and in the hole you may see a brass nut with a hole in the center. Using either a 7mm or 8mm socket remove the brass nuts. It may help if you put a piece of tap over the nut so it stays in the socket wrench as you remove it otherwise you are at risk of it falling into the range. Once out, replace it with the proper propane gas not (orifice). Some ranges have two or three sizes of burners for simmer and full boiler settings. Consult your owners manual for yours. Now if you slide out the drawer completely, you will see an aluminum tube again with a small brass nut that can be tightened to adjust the flame. Turn the nut with a 5/8" open end wrench so that it is snug (not super tight). Next you will find the same nut on the broiler if you open up the oven door. Tighten that nut the same way you did the lower one. Now again in the drawer, there will be a small aluminum block (gas valve) with a round plug (usually made of plastic) that will have to be unscrewed and flipped so the side marked LP faces out. Keep the spring behind the plug in the valve and do not loose it. Once everything is back together and tight, fire up the surface burners to make sure the flames are blue, not orange or yellow. Then test the oven and broiler to make sure they work properly. If you get a foul acidic smell from either the oven or broiler, the unit has not been converted properly and redo the steps above.

I have a galaxy gas

The cost of the parts is low. Many ranges have the conversion kit attached to the back of the unit. (If installed, pull the range away from the wall and then check the back. Another likely spot is behind the storage drawer.) If the parts aren't provided, then check your manual for information on ordering the conversion kit. (At least one range I've researched had a price under $20 for the conversion kit.)

The biggest cost is to get a licensed installer to do the conversion. This is required to maintain the warranty. It is also required by law in some states. Talk to your gas company (most appliance shops do not have staff that handle propane conversions).

The instructions are included with the conversion kit. It's fairly simple and takes a screwdriver, wrench and ratchet with correct sized socket (mine took a 10mm). A nutdriver can be helpful. Check your instructions for any other tools you need. With the stove unplugged and disconnected from the gas supply, turn over the LP/NG part in the regulator (do not remove the entire regulator). Adjust the air flow damper. Remove the current orifices for both the range and the stovetop. For best results do these one at a time (the orifices are labeled and are for specific locations). In the oven, you need to remove a few covers to reach the various dampers and orifices.

Then connect the stove back to the incoming gas line and power supply (use a new flexible gas line for the connection to the regulator). Check for leaks. Then you may need to adjust the flame for each of the inlets. The stovetop burners usually have a set screw behind the knob so turn on the flame and then remove the knob. The set screw takes a very small screwdriver.

I hope this helps.

(please note I did this from memory after reading the directions on the new stove we had delivered about 2 months ago. That was an LG stove so some differences in the instructions are inevitable.)
