Sound like the firmware needs to be updated for the newer encryption schemes had the same problem with my bd-hp21u with a couple of new bd discs. You will need a 1gb or smaller USB drive to put the updated firmware on which Sharp doesen't tell you. The rest is in the manual or available from sharp support.

You need a USB flash drive (FAT format); in my experience even less than 1G drives are sufficient. Download the firmware update to your computer from the site:
http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx
(You'll need to fill in the drop down menus) The file is a .zip and must be extracted to the root directory of the USB drive. Then safely eject the drive from the computer (to ensure that the write step is finished). Plug the drive into the player (port marked Service) and go through the setup menus. Setup > Settings > Software Update (you need a password so it will ask you for one if not already set). Click Enter and the file on the drive will be compared to the current installed firmware. Then press Yes to install and wait for it to finish. If errors occur try removing and reinserting the drive. When done, remove the flash drive.

I hope this helps.

(some TV repair shops may have the flash drives available but you'd probably have to pay for a service call to get a technician and the drive.)

I can't play alvatar on my sharp hp210u blue ray player

The update file can be found here http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx

Select bluray disc players
model not listed
type in model number
Then click on search
Click on the instructions and read thme if you need to. If you do not need to read the instructions click on the firmware and save it to your desktop. After the download has completed open the folder and click on extract all files under folder tasks, which should be on the left of the window nearer to the top.

At this time insert a 1, 2 or 4 GB flash drive into your computer. Then in the window click on next if you need to or browse and then my computer and then the icon of the usb device itself. Click on extract or next. When it is done safely remove the usb device from your computer by clicking on safely remove hardware located near the time on the bottom right hand side of the computer monitor.
Click on the usb device and click on stop. Remove it from the computer and place it in the back of the bluray player. Turn the tv and bluray player on as if you were going to view a bluray. There shouldn't be any discs inside. Press the setup button on the bluray remote control. Choose settings. Choose software update. Begin the update. After it is completed turn off the bluray player before removing the usb device.

If the usb device needs to be reformatted or if the zip file folder is placed on the usb device instead of the extracted file the download will not be successful.

My Sharp Blue ray DVD player had a Blue Ray DVD

It is fixable but like you have guessed you may need a new tray. This is the reason why you should use the emergency eject hole at the front to release a stuck disc. It may be possible to fix it by clearing the obstruction which is most likely to be a kinked arm. This arm is what causes the tray to elevate/lower on to the lens when the tray is closed. Have a qualified technician look at it and get the tray replaced if necessary.

Cannot operate could be the disc itself (defective) or the DVD drive (defective in need of repair or replacement) itself. However this is how to complete the update in detail.

My blue ray keeps saying RC-1 i am trying to watch

Do this please. Turn off the power to the blu ray player if it is on. Press and hold down 1 and without letting it go press power along with it and hold them down together for more than 5 seconds.
If the power to the blu ray player turns on walk over to it and turn it off by pressing the power button located on it. If the power to it doesn't turn on then don't worry about that step.
Next point the remote control at the tv and press and hold down the display button for more than 10 seconds. Now press the power button on the remote control and the bluray player should turn on and off normally and you shouldn't get rc-1 anymore
