20 Most Recent Delphi XpressRC XM Satellite Radio Receiver with Vehicle Kit Questions & Answers

If your radio is aftermarket, it appears that your Battery Constant supply cable is loose, this cable is responsible for keeping the unit's last settings while the ignition is switched to off, check the fuse (if any) and if you cannot locate the issue, contact an auto electrician to arrange repairs, as loose wires can often cause vehicle fires or other damage. if you feel like fixing it yourself, refer to the manual for your head unit for wiring colors, most cases the Battery constant wire is yellow, and ignition power is red, this may vary, so check your manuals.

Same thing happened to mine until it permanently went dark - no brightness. Problem is with the LCD display that is defective. As this model does not have a separate filament bulb unlike the non color model, it cannot be repaired. Likely too expensive to replace the color LCD display if avalaible. Next one I buy will be a non color version which has separate bulb.

You can email "Droo" at [email protected] He should be able to fix back light issues. He works for TSS Radio, an online retailer for these parts and accessories.

There is no programing necessary for the remote. Are you sure you have the correct remote? It should be this one: http://www.tss-radio.com/products/xm-universal-xpress-remote-control.

Does the remote you have operate anything on the receiver? If not, I would check the battery. (Maybe try swapping batteries with the old one to see if that makes a difference)

Yes. The back light can be repaired, something our repair guy at TSS Radio has done many times. There are also back light controls in the menu, if it is a setting issue as opposed to a faulty back light. In the Display Settings, you will find that you can adjust brightness, back light timer, and auto dimmer.

You can buy a new LCD from eBay. The problem is cause by the backlight cable breaking because Delphi folds it behind the LCD in manufacturing. If you know how to solder, you can solder a wire in place of the broken flat cable to fix it.

You can buy a new LCD on ebay and just install it. Or you can solder a new backlight onto the old LCD.

The XM model number provided is branded DELPHI but is actually made by AUDIOVOX... a manufacturer that is commonly rebranded XM, TERK, RCA, etc. So the Audiovox manual is what you need. Now since Audiovox usually doesnt support directly its hard to get manual from them directly. The link to your manual (the third down on this page and the picture looks a bit diffferent but is the silver receiver not black box ones) Good luck

yes it can. there is a light source behind the lcd that illuminate the screen. The thing is take not of all the parts when disassembling it. You may need a soldering iron andsome solder to replace the bulb. It is probalby a small thin flourescent bulb.

First, turn the radio on and off using the POWER button on the radio - do not just turn off the car or unplug it. Next, make sure your 'sleep timer' isn't set. Next, check your antenna signal level and make sure you're in a location that has at least 2 bars - move until you do.
Now, make sure that you leave the radio ON Channel 1 for at least a half an hour. You should then have your channels back - when you do get all your channels back, turn the radio on and off with the POWER switch, not by unplugging the unit, or pulling it out of the dock or turning off the car. Okay?
