if u have experience with the soldering of the terminals then you can open the speaker casing of the sub woofer and then solder the right speaker input wire.
dont do this if you have no previous experience and DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY before doing any work inside.

Your speakers' lead wire has a break in it. Lead wire is one that goes to the speker paper cone, from the connection point. It is a brided copper wire, very thin and flexible. If you be carefull, you can repair it. Speaker lead wire can be bought from electronic spare part shops. Just find out the size use in your speaker, buy a short lenth of it, say half a meter or so [even though it needs a few centimeters]. Look on the spekares leadwire fittings; you can compare the fittings of the other leadwire, and replace it. It is a very keen and sensitive work. After replacing the wire, fix it with some sort of rubber based gum. That is all. OK.

My system has the same problem and what i would do is ask logitech's customer support what they can do to help or do what i did. I went to my PC's sound settings and changed the balance to most of the way up on the speaker that has the low volume. I dragged a shortcut to the desktop for easy access to it for when the volume is really high or low. If this doesnt help just go to logitech like i said before.

I too had the left speaker malfunctioning. Luckily, i had the curage to open up the speaker and look into the problem. Before that i checked to see if the input inlet to the amp worked by plugging in the right speaker in the left input inlet. I was able to hear the speaker. If you get that response, then the left speaker is the problem. So i went ahead and opened up the speaker. Do this by taking off the fabric cover. There are those little hose plugs you need to take off with a philips head, just wiggle them out. Unscrew the 4 screws. Use a blow dryer around the edges/sides of the face of the speaker to loosen the hot glue holding the cover together. Once the speaker is warm, try prying off the cover. You can maybe use a flat head screw driver to do so but with gentleness or else you'll scratch up the speaker. So once you have that done, look at the terminal(wires that are soddered to the speaker, to check if connected to speaker. if they are not connected, then you would have to soddered them. If everything is intact, then try moving the little plastic piece connected to the speaker, opposite end of that is the possittive and negative wires connected to the cone. I scrapted/moved around the wires being careful not to puncture the cone with the screw driver to check to see if they were making contact with the terminal. I then connected the plug into the amp and fortunately i could hear the speaker once again. I hope this made sense and worked for you. I was glad this worked cuz i truly love the sound of Z-2300 system for the THX certified sound.Sure glad i didn't have to buy another set.

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer
have you tried this control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to system devices + to expand,system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems

mine did the same thing today , i just bought these new 2 weeks ago . the black prong speaker works in both ports ..
the yellow prong speaker is the one with the malfunction .
it works sometimes but when i turn up the volume louder it dies out .

Switching from pc to mac could have something to do with that. What i mean by that is the audio card inside the computer is most likely different. It could also have something to do with the equalizer settings on what ever program you are using. If it is a program with an EQ or equalizer setting try turning up 32, 64 and 125 on the EQ. hope this helps

Make sure you you have turned on both of the power buttons the one on the remote should be pushed down and there is also one on the back of the subwoofer just above the power cord connection. Hope that helps if not just let me know

First thing you should check is that your sound card our PC or (MAC) has the drivers to run this specific set of speakers. Go to logitec's website and check for the drivers and download them (provided they have the drivers). Which they really should. If the problem presists it may be a product defect. DO NOT attemped to take them appart unless you have (Some) idea what your doing. Hope this helps

Sounds like the wires inside got pulled loose or broke. Replace the speaker wires or check them good for connection.

Hi there bud , 1st thing you want too do , when speakers are showing signs of trouble, take it into shop and ask them too fix it , Luckily you have your warranty ...Dont let it carry on without taking it in...Hope you come right Bud

This is a stab at this problem because I would have to hear what kind of crackly it has. If the crackly happens while twisting volume knobs or tone knobs, and stops crackling (or even crackles SOME) after you stop twisting them, the potentiometers will need nothing more than to be squirted with some WD-40, Not the ideal stuff, but I have found it works better for this than anything else I've tried. Just spray the back of them with a little, but make sure none hits the speaker paper. (You'll have to crack open the case by unscrewing the screws.) If you don't have anyone handy to do this, some computer repair places just might help you out. Woops - I re-read.. you're still under the warranty? Then don't do any of this, and go to the Logitech website. They have a customer service department.
