No video when using quickcam pro 9000 on google chat (gchat)

I had this problem but I fixed it. The google chat uninstaller does not uninstall everything. Go to the hidden folder Application Data of the default or local user in the Documents and Settings folder of the C drive, you will find the plugin folder for google chat. Delete it and then reinstall the plugin and it will work.
C:\Documents and Settings\Joe\Application Data

Fuzzy image quality

This has nothing to do with your cam. Its a result of bandwidth and transmit speed. Nothing you can do except get a faster connection.

I can't install my logitech pro9000

Remove the driver from device manager and uninstall the software. I would also check in the registry for any files and delete them. Then reboot and try to install again. Make sure not to plug in the webcam until the software prompts you to.

Yellow vertical band at center of incoming video

Looking through a Skype forum thread, there appears to be at least 2 issues. First, for Logitech cam users you can try the following:

- Go to Skype / Tools / Options / Video Settings / Webcam settings / Advanced.
The contents of this window will vary depending on the particular model of camera that you have. If there are options for "Low Light Boost" and "Automatic Gain Control", turn them off. Adjust the manual sliders in the window to get reasonable video quality.

This seems to work for some people.

Then there is the more fundamental issue of Skype driver. Here is the link to the thread (http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=97038) but the essence is that the older the driver the more likely the issue. Even with the latest driver it is not a guaranteed fix, but many people seem to suggest that downloading the latest drivers works for at least some of the time. Clearly Skype have known about this for a while and are dragging their heels sorting it out.

Hope this helps, T.

Hi, whenever I install my Logitech Quickcam Pro

The logitech software runs constantly and uses too much processing power. try plugging it in without the softwarer being installed and see if it will let you use it. If it doesn't you need to go to the logitech website and see if you can download just drivers.

Uninstall the Webcam drivers.

Reinstall the Webam drivers, there must be a tick box in the setup somewhere to let you stop automatic updates.

Look closely as the Reinstall proceeds.

Logitech pro9000 QC software not working

Looks like a software issue. First, download the latest version of the driver from the Logitech site:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/435/3056&cl=us,en?WT.ac=sc|downloads||dd

Next, go to control panel and uninstall the software and reboot the system. Disconnect the camera and the do a clean install. (Different from regular installation). Not sure what your OS is, but here are the procedures I wrote for Vista and XP:
For VISTA
For WinXP (Dont worry if the article is meant for mice/keyboards, it is the same for cameras as well).

Follow the procedure exactly and the problem should be resolved. (It would be better to take a print out of the procedure)..

Let me know how it goes..

Cheers!
