GE Profile 25.6 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Thru-the-Door Ice and Water - Stainless-Steel - Page 4 Questions & Answers
WATER WILL NOT FLOW
My water dispensor INSIDE the door froze
up.
I payed a repair guy $75 to use MY BLOWDRYER to "thaw" the frozen
water line INSIDE the freezer door (below the water dispenser).
He said anytime the frozen food extends over the freezer shelf and touches the
freezer door for a long enough period of time, the water line inside the door
FREEZES!!
PREVENTION: "Keep some airspace between the door and frozen food."

GE pss25ngnacc____refrigrato is to cold can't control tem
start by putting freezer control on half way on the numers. lets say it goes to ten set on five, do the same on refrig side . let run for 24 hrs. so it can stabalize. if it is ok in freezer and things are frozen and too cold in fridge side turn the refrig side to one smaller number. check again in 24 hrs. don't keep opening the door so that it can stabalize. if that doesnt work then it could be the cold control not senseing the temp of the refrig.
Column between freezer and refridgerator gets extreemly hot.
It's a self limiting mullion heater so the doors don't freeze closed. It will not burn you or a child. Having said that, children should not be going to the fridge unsupervised, especially if they are of an age where they might stand holding on to a hot thing long enough for it to hurt.
Dead fish smell
Try putting in pie pans filled with loose coffee grounds for a couple of days. Might take a while to permeate the refrigerator. Then clean with vinegar and leave dish of vinegar in there.

If it has auto defrost the temp shown will go really high but only for a short while. It sounds like the defrost timer may be faulty if it is defrosting products
Water works but ice will not dispense
Check the top of the fridge. The hinge on the left where the door is there should be a wire harness on the top, but on this fridge it might be at the bottom. Inspect all the wires to see physical damage of sorts. Then if you can, tug on them while someone holds the dispenser. You might need a whole new door if it's not the Mainboard.
How to remove ice maker on ge profile pfss6pkwbss
You would first have to distinguish between if the tray has a crack in it or if the water valve is not closeing which would mean you would need a new water valve. Most all ice makers are held to the freezer wall by 3 1/4" screws you would unscrew these screws and unplug the power connector and remove the ice maker from the unit. Fill the ice tray with water and see if you do have a crack in the tray which is not as common as a water valve allowing to much water to go into the ice tray makeing it overflow. If you have any further questions message me back I await your reply.Thank you,Rick
Cant switch to water
You would have to disassemble the dispenser cover from the unit and inspect the switch that controls the water function and assure that when you press the button in it is activating the switch. You can also remove the switch from the unit and using a multimeter perform an ohms test on the switch to assure that the switch is good as well. If the switch is working fine then you would pull the unit out and check the water valve in the unit and assure that the solenoid on top of the valve is actuating when the switch is depressed in the front if the switch tested good and you cannot get the solenoid to work then replace the water valve. If you have any further questions message me back.I await your replyThank you,RIck
Refrigerator freezing even when you turn it down
Your refrigerator is freezing due to the unit most likely haveing a defrost issue. This is usually caused by the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater, or the defrost timer or adaptive control having a fault condition. If you remove the rear panel in the rear of the freezer it will give you access to the evaporator coil. Located to one of the side usually clipped onto one of the copper lines you will see a small circular round sensor with two wires coming from it. Unplug the machine and defrost with a hair dryer any ice build up on the evaporator coil. If you have a multimeter you can perform a ohms test to assure that the thermostat is working properly. A defrost thermostat usually has an ohms reading of at least .50 ohms or higher. Located under the evaporator coil is the defrost heater. If you unplug both sides of the heater you can also perform a ohms test with a multimeter which would usually read around 21 ohms or higher. Most often this issue is caused due to the defrost thermostat due to this part being manufactured poorly on most all machines. If you find that you have a positive ohms reading on both these mentioned parts. You would then look at the defrost timer or adaptive control as the part causing the fault condition. I will await your reply and to you testing these first two parts before further posting how to test the defrost timer.
I await your reply,
Thank you,
Rick
