First, Is Bose companion 5 multimedia system a fuse type? If not how do i fix this?( I'll ask someone to do it though hehe)

Yes, the fuse is inside the unit where the power cord plugs in. Not accessible from outside the unit.

Control pod failure on bose companion speakers , the sound stops

check your wiring connections, sounds like you may have intermittent connection somewhere, and this is the most likely culprit. be certain that all connections are solid. multi pin plugs are notorious for having one bad pin.

Bose repair

Does not seem very complex. I think it is because of the broken fuse. Simply Open the back part of Bose companion 5. The Circuit board attached to the back part is basically for the Audio output socket, Control pod Connector and Power supply connector. on the Left hand side of the board you will find a fuse soldered with the board. most probably that fuse is broken. replace the fuse if broken or just connect both end of the fuse with thin wire (temporary) to check. Hope it helps. I am outta home or else i could have added an image for you. maybe tomorrow. Thanks

Need new control pod for companion 5

Can you explain the problems you are having for dropping it many times? Is it just physically damaged from outside / The cuircit inside is broken / Completely dead? Would be easier for me to solve the problem. Few days ago I bought a new Control pad from ebay which was $85. See, if the circuit is broken inside or the cable is damaged surely we can come with a solution.. I have a working control pad Cuircit and other spare parts.. so if u can find out the part needs to be replaced then i am sure u can cut down this expense. Thanks.
