Did you reset the Web Browser? In I.E. go to the menu and select tools, internet options, click the advanced tab, click the reset button in the lower right of the dialog box. Also seem like you maybe have Malware or a virus. Download Malwarebytes, intall it and run a scan.

This issue might be due to your internet service provider experiencing a downtime. I would suggest to perhaps be wired into your internet in the meantime and wait a few ours and try again. Or to phone your internet service provider immediately

My dsl light will flash

Hi,

Good day. For your problem as suggest for you to contact at&t and ask for a modem replacement. It should not take an hour for your dsl light to turn solid green. A red light also indicates a problem on the modem itself. Better to get it now than to lose your connection permanently in the future. Hope this information help you a lot. Have a great day to you.

Need url to login into

Hi,

I have worked with AT&T before and modem/routers we handled were:
  1. Motorola
  2. Speedstream
  3. 2Wire
For Motorola modem the URL is 192.168.1.254
For Speedstream it is 192.168.0.1
For 2wire it is 192.168.1.254

But, for you find out what URL to use, do these steps:
  1. Click on Start.
  2. Click on All Programs.
  3. Click on Accessories.
  4. Click on Command Prompt.

On Command Prompt (black window)
  1. Type in ipconfig.
  2. Hit Enter.
  3. Look for the Default Gateway.(usually in the format of 192.168.X.X)
  4. Whatever the Default Gateway is, that is how you can access your modem.
  5. Type the Default Gateway in your browser's address bar.
  6. Hit Enter and you're in.
Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day.

I HAAAAAVE A AT@T WESTELL MODEN BUT MY COMPUTER IS

Let me clear up a little confusion. You don't have wi-fi on your account, you have Internet access. Wi-fi is not something that you subscribe to or purchase separately. Wi-fi (wireless) access is provided by a router that allows the Internet connection you pay for to be shared by several computers. The typical router has both wired connections (usually 4 of them) for computers that don't have wireless capability, and acts as the access point for your wireless network.

Your modem is the device that connects you to the Internet through your service provider (ISP). Most ISPs are supplying a combination modem/router for their customers since so many people want wireless access in their homes. If you have one of these, you actually have wireless capability already. But your modem might be an older type, supplying a single wired connection for one computer only. You didn't give the model number of your Westell modem so I can't tell you what you have, but you can tell by looking at it.

A single-connection DSL modem will have only two ports. One is the connection to the DSL phone line, and is a standard-size phone jack labeled "DSL". The other is the network cable connection to your computer, usually labeled "COMPUTER", "LAN" (short for Local Area Network), or "ETHERNET" which is the type of cable used. If this describes your modem, you will need to provide your own wireless router to make your new wireless netbook work.

On the other hand, a combination modem/router will have the DSL connection jack and 4 connectors for computers. It may also have an antenna for the wireless function, but some newer models have internal antennas. If you have one of these, you already have wi-fi capability. You will probably need to set up your network so that your netbook can use it.

There is plenty of information available about how to install a wireless router if you don't have one already. In fact, almost every one now comes with an installation CD that will guide you through all the steps. They aren't expensive and are for sale almost everywhere that sells electronics (office places, Radio Shack, retailers like Wal-Mart, etc.). If you already have the combination device, you can call your ISP customer service for help in setting up your network, or find the information on their website.

So yes, the Sylvania netbook will work in your home, although you may need to do a little work first. But it's really pretty simple, and you'll have that computer online without wires in no time.

Videos like youtube are slow to load and stall in

You should try different browsers: latest Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer. If it still doesn't work, download and install the latest Flash Player (version 10.2) from: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. And then of course restart your browser.
If the problem is the same on all browsers then you should update your graphic drivers: download and install a free driver updater software, e.g. http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/index.htm - let it scan and update all your missing drivers.

I would call your Internet Service Provider tech support for your DSL and try to solve the issue. It may not be the hardware issue.

No, the 2Wire modems do that automatically, though not well. With modern bandwidth this is unnecessary for faster downloads. You may be thinking of port forwarding, to speed up certain downloading programs. For full instructions go here.

The dsl and internet

Hi,

In that case, you will need to reset the modem that you have, at the back of the modem, there is a pin hole that you need to push, I believe you will need a pen or a pin to press that button. Press and hold the button while the modem is on for at least 30 seconds then turn it off, after 30 seconds, turn it back on and if its still the same, you will need to replaced the modem.

Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...
