Hi ,

The dell desktop demension 2350 that you are using does not have a dvd burner. Hence when ever you are putting the dvd burner it throws it out. Please instert a cd and you would see that it does not behave the same.

maybe your DVD writer is not a multi/dual format (dvd+ & dvd-), check your writer if the print in front is "DVD-RW"(minus format) or DVD+RW(plus format),

for burning home movies and create a DVD so that you can play it to regular dvd player, i suggest to use xilisoft DVD creator.here is the download link, if ask for password on extracting. pw:www.dl4all.com

You will need to download a decode programme such as power dvd or as i did vlc media player.(this was free)

First you need to make sure that you're using the option to create a DVD and not just burning the files over. You also need to make sure it creates a menu, even if you select the option to start playing automatically otherwise your DVD player won't know how to handle it.

Reinstall the program. I don't like Roxio. It has too many installation issues and causes chatter on cd's.

Try a different media brand.

Just Look in its own website for up dates or check weather u can download it from some torrent sites

Try not to do other things while burning process is going on.

Sounds like you are trying to burn/copy a DVD that has copyright protection encryption. You need to decrypt it using something like DVD Decrypt. NOTE: the legality of doing such is questionable.

A DVD - R disk means DVD Read disk, therefore, in order to burn a DVD you will need a DVD RW (meaning Read + Write)

Also, confirm if you DVD drive accepts DVD(-) and / or DVD(+) disks

You may need to run the setup directly from the CD rather than letting the autorun start and running it from there. Open up "My Computer" and go to the CD drive, right click on it and select "Explore" find the "Setup" file, and right click on that, select "Run as Adminstrator".

Sometimes different DVD software and DVD writers are picky with the type of DVDs that you put in. Try a different brand and see if that makes a difference.

You did not state either  the type of computer or the type of cd/dvd drive. It could be either an IDE-ATA or and S-ATA, so I am going to guess that you are removing the old CD on a PC and installing the new cd/DVD. If an IDE-ATA (That is the one with a whole lot of pins that a ribbon cable attaches too) thge look on the back to make sure that it is either set to cable select or Master. After hooking the wires and screws ,just like the old CD had attached,close the case and start the computer.  At this point it would act exactly like a CD burner. You must install DVD burner software not to use it as a DVD player /burner. Install your ROXIO and  you should be ready to go.  If I missed anything or misunderstood just let me know. Good luck.

the Roxio Easy that u are loading on your windows is a new version
so why it can not run on an old version on windows like yours
so try to replace your windows 2000 by the new version of it .

Try to burn a know playlist, you have burn before. Its probably a problem with the nex playlist you are trying to burn.

i would try to dl latest nero.com use nero alot better did u try to go to roxio.com and download latest software verison k thx nick
