I have a laundry center

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Not by plugging it in direct!
You will need a transformer, or a more modern equivalent 'box' which will take the 220v supply you
have now and drop it down to 110V.
Try your local hardware or electrical store or look in your telephone directory under 'electrics'- hopefully you should find one from one of them ;-0)

Good luck,

The peice used to close the dryer has broken off

Hello, truth1333.

With the model number of your machine, try looking here:

http://www.repairclinic.com/

Enter your model number and hit 'Enter'.

I'm not sure which piece you need, but try looking at the parts listed in 'Latch Parts' in the drop-down menu ('Part Type').

GE Dryer shuts off w/ blinking and beeping

I just fixed that problem with mine. I tried many, many things. Final solution was vacumming out the holes in the rear of the drier. (Prior to that, I removed the lint filter and holder, checked all connections and vacummed out that area. I unplugged the vent hose to confirm there was no cluggs. I found resetting the breaker would work for about a half hour.) Just vacum out the rear of the dry. Not only will the beeping stop, but as an added bonus, you cloths will dry much faster!!!

Dryer runs but does not heat

If the dryer is electric, you most likely have one of two issues going on...

1. An electric dryer uses 240VAC to operate. That's actually two 120 volt circuits wired into the dryer. One circuit runs the drum motor and controls while the other is dedicated to running the heating element. Check both legs of this circuit for blown fuses, etc.

2. The heating element may be worn out. You can check continuity of the element to see if it has an open circuit inside.

If the dryer is gas, there are a number of possibilities... post again if that's the case.

Good luck.

Washer won't spin and empty the water out of the

Shirley, it may be the drain pump is obstructed or possibly the lid switch is broken. If you washed bath mats or rubber backed rugs recently i would go for the pump. If you washed a semi bulky item with a tendency to float I would go for the switch.
Get me a model number and I can help you with dis-assembly if you'd like further help!

My spacemaker will not drain or function in spin

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

When the unit is unable to drain it will not even work in spin cycle, the problem is with blocked drain/drain pump filter which should be cleaned. If after cleaning the problem comes back then the drain pump needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
