The " SE " error is reported by the microwave's software whenever one or more keys on the keypad are pressed or shorted for more than 60 seconds. An "SE" condition can result in the microwave oven running on its own, which can result (and has allegedly resulted) in house fires.

If your microwave is totally dead, it may be the line-fuse that is the problem. Leave the microwave unplugged for a day (it may contain a capacitor that could have residual electricity that could give you a nasty jolt). Undo the screws that hold the front outgoing-vent grill.You may be able to see the fuse through the secondary grill (they don't want you touching the circuit-board, but you may have to). The line-fuse may be attached to the circuit-board.If it is, undo the secondary grill screws, and bend the tabs that hold the secondary grill to remove the secondary grill.Pull-out the fuse from the fuse-holder, and get an ohm-meter to test. If the ohm-meter reads near-infinite ohms across the fuse, get a magnifier to read what is on the end of the fuse.The imprint on the old fuse should mention a rated voltage, and amperage.Then go to Radio Shack, and buy an equivalent replacement fuse.Replace the line-fuse with a new one, plug the microwave back in, and see if the display comes-alive, and if it does, set the clock ad try to heat a cup of water. If the cup of water heats, replace the secondary-grill (careful, that capacitor is now in-play) and screws, replace the outlet-vent-grill and screws -- you may not even have to take the microwave off of the wall !

This is usually a defective magnetron. Although I had an extended contract when ours failed, the service technician said the total cost would have run a little over $400. This was through Sears, (they were always more expensive than others), but any service in-home will probably start around $150 just to walk through the door. If your oven is over 7 years old consider buying a new one in lieu of fixing the old one.

Call the installer back out. The unit is new and does not appear to be working properly. This should be no charge because it is under warranty.

Try heating up touchpad with blowdryer , if that doesnt work replace touchpad.... On the smh9207st remove plastic cover from the back of the door . Remove 4 screws and 1 screw at the top of the door . Unplug two connectors Gently. ... Peel off front touchpad . Install is reverse of removal . Be safe .....part was $45 @ repairclinic.com
