Can't figure out how to remove the handles from my GE

Know its a year later, but I have the manual, and will look through it if still interested. Just wondering why you would be replacing the handles? I have this refrgerator and it has held up well and really have no problems or complaints,...except for those darn handles! They work perfectly, but the white began to slowly wear off soon after I bought it,...revealing an unsightly beige rubber color. I've even resorted to spray painting the handles,...a very time consuming process, just taping all around them. It would last and look good for a few months,...but then it was back to that beige, rubbery worn off look again. Would love to swap out the handles for some new ones,...just wondering if you are or were having the same complaint with this model's handles

Water stop dispening from ref door outlet

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

I think its the thermostat and fan issue. temp

i've seen this on g.e. machines, you have a bad computer board located on the back of the machine, one time my customer went to get a cup of water and when he pushed the dispenser the compressor would shut down, another thing i've seen is the fans speed up and slow down or not run at all.everything goes through the mother board, the common board is a wr55x10942 but you have to send the model number and i can look up your machine and tell you what board goes in it or call your parts store, give them the model number and they will sell you the right board.good luck.

Can't get water to come out the door frig. is

You have two points where you can check the dispenser water. At the rear where the water supply comes in is the water inlet valve. If you disconnect the dispenser water line and then see if the water comes out when you try the dispenser. You should hear the valve work when you try the dispenser. If you don't hear it there is a dispenser actuator switch problem. If you do hear it but water doesn't work here there is a valve or water supply problem. If it's normal, disconnect it at the bottom of the freezer door and try again. If it's normal here it may be frozen in the door. If this is the case open the door till it thaws. A blanket over the opening will prevent thawing of all the food.

My fridge is beeping 3

HI,
Are the lights shutting off? I have seen the light switches failed in some models and cause this problem before. Refer door will settle and cause you not to make contact to the door switch when closed. Thats where I would look, the beeping noise is normally a door alarm.

Ice maker is not working, and refrigerator is not

Push the white paddle in three times slowly within 15 seconds. Then wait 2 minutes. You should see the ice maker start to cycle. If the ice maker doesn't cycle, replace the ice maker. If you need a new ice maker, you can go to the link below

Where can i get a manual for a GE PROFILE model

Here is a link to a site which I commonly use.I could not find your specific model number,The same basic model numbers may have minor changes, thus a change in model number. This is to make support and manufacturing easier and also helps keep costs down.It should at least look very similar in operation to your model. You do not have to sign up for anything and there is no junk after.Click download, then enter the 5 digit code and press download again. It will open a menu.If you want to save it permananetly click save.It will most likely save to your documents folder. For 1 time use click run.You may want to save this site for future reference also.It is excellent and has a wide variety of electronics. If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.I really encourage responses so I can follow up properly as I know where you stand and asking someone else restarts all the explaining because we cannot see other 'Expert's' responses.Good luck,Greg

Control panel on freezer door

Hi, your dispenser board has lost communication to the main control board. You will need to replace the board which is located behind the refrigerator, behind the 8 " X 10 " small panel. The part no# is WR55X10942. You do NOT need to replace the board on the dispenser. The board behind the refrigerator is easily replaceable .

GE SIDE BY SIDE MODEL #GSH22JFRE CC FREEZER COIL

We have a GE side by side that was only 4 years old before it starting giving us problems-coiling freezing over. The warranty period was only one year on all parts, including the compressor. Through our research we learned that profile appliances have or did have a better warranty. I believe it is 5 years on all or certain components. Either way it may be worth contacting GE customer service to help you with the issue and determine if repairs and parts for your appliance are still covered under warranty. They were very helpful in our case and ultimately discounted the parts I ordered and replaced myself. Replaced the the temperature sensors on the freezer side, the defroster thermostat and defroster heater before finally breaking down and replacing the control board. The control board was the problem. It was very easy to replace. While working through the issue, we would defrost the coils located on the inside of the freezer side with a hair dryer. It would get us by until the parts came in or they frosted over again and prevented air from circulating over them, thus causing the freezer not to cool. Good luck. Hope this helps you.

Side by Side GE Refrigerator freezer will not

The defrost circuit has failed in your fridge. Typical failure is with the defrost heating element. To troubleshoot, you need to remove the remove the contents of your freezer section and remove the freezer back panel to access the evaporator coil. You will need a hair dryer to melt the ice on coil. The heating element is attached to the coil. Use a meter to confirm that the element is bad. Hope this helps you.
