The long handle when twisted adjusts the Up/down angle. The twist nut that is positioned lower down controls the left/right movement. The twist nut you are looking for is the one positioned at the highest point. When loosened it will tilt between portrait and landscape. Sometimes if the tripod has a 'quick release' plate the camera can be accidentally mounted a quarter turn too far left or right. This means the 'portrait' adjuster can be mistaken for the Up/down adjuster.

Then go through the driver update it will say cannnot find and ask if you have a disk click I dont then click browse my pc for drivers. open the zipped folder and extract all the files onto your desktop.
