i have a hk gps 300 but this also happened to me. There is a little reset button on the bottom of the device. You need a toothpick to push it. After you push it it should reset and start working.

the crossed out symbol at the bottom left of the screen means that there is no signal. i think it freezes when it first finds a signal

the only place you can get this is from the manufacturers support site, we have no software here for any device.

is this harman or garmin? if garmin go to garmin web site. you have to join w/user name and all. i think a fee of $25 is required. you can download new maps to a memory card to install on your gps. mike

Normally, you should bring it back to the store you bought it. (If you bought your GPS at Futureshop, for example, bring it to the customer care counter , they will take repair your GPS. If the GPS is still under warranty, it won't cost you a penny)

to do this update which i assume is a MAP update you will need to go to the GPS support web site and then contact support for the update info, if this is a map update there will be a charge of about $120.00
