How do you install the hk-401sx amplifier?

A 4 Gauge or even better a 2 Gauge power cable Starting from the Battery going thru a fuse block which should not be more than 12 inches away from the battery then to the battery connection on your amplifier the states 12V. A similar gauge cable connected from the GND negative (minus) of the amplifier to a good clean and cleared of paint location on the chassis somewhere in the boot (secure well) A cable connected form the blue and white cable at the back of your head unit to the remote input of your amplifier which is next to the speaker outputs on your amplifier and clearly indicates REMOTE. A stereo RCA interconnect from the output of your head unit to the line in of your amplifier. Best if there is a dedicated sub woofer output. You then connect your sub woofer. dreamsystems

When the rca cords are

You have a bad ground in most cases.
Because of this the amp tries to pull ground from the RCAs which are connected to your grounded headunit chasis.
To make a solid amp ground. Find a piece of metal (not the back deck), scrape off the paint and then use 2-3 self tapping screws with washers to keep the ground from moving.
And of course plz don't forget to rate me ;)

Hi mate very nice amp you got there here is the specs for it

Model: MA Audio HK401SX

2 alpine type r 15's 4 ohm dvc and 2 american bass

Option 1 (parallel) = 0.5 ohm load
Voice coils wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 1/2 ohm mono This set up will blow your mind as your amp will put out 1800rms at 0.5 ohm

How do i drop it down to 0.5 ohm

there are no settings on the amp, if it is made to be stable at .5 ohm you will need 8 voice coils to make .5 ohm, if your subs ar 2 ohm, you will need 4 coils to make .5 ohm when hooked in parallel

Protect light

Does the amplifier do this when you don't have the sub hooked to it? If so, you have a pinch/short in your ground or power wire. If not, the subwoofer has a short in its voice coil or the amplifier needs to be repaired as it cannot handle a typical load.

My brand new system isnt working right...

All righty then, This is most often gaused by bad grounds. Make certain the ground of the amp is a solid clean connection. The best place is under one of the rear seatbelt bolts, next check the condition of the ground at the battery this has to be clean with a good connection to the chasis, third make sure the Head Unit also ahs a clean positive ground. If these do not yeild results then get hold of any littel portable radio, cassette player, mp3 player as long as it has a earphone jack. Get one of those cables that have a earphone plug on one end and RCA plugs on the other. Disconnect the RCA's from the HU and hook up the player. Power up the system and play back from your portable player, mess with the gain on the amp and see if you still have the same problem when playing back from the portable device. If the problem goes away then you probably have blown grounds on the RCA's on the head unit and only a repair shop can fix that or a new HU. If you still have the problem with the portable player then adjust your lowpass filters and cut off to a higher frequency until the problem goes away. The gain on these amps should never be used to make up for low output from the Head Unit. (another cause for this condition) Get a HU that has 4 to 6 volt sub outputs and crank the gain down on the amp. That gain control is to control distortion (over driving the amp) not to make it louder. If you want louder then go for the HU with the higher sub output voltage or go with a SUB with a lower ohm rating. Your amp is stable down to 1 ohm. Oh and double check if you have your subs wired correctly improper wiring at the subs can m ake this problem worse.

I have a 800 watt ma audio i was loosening speaker clamps when one my kids turned tunes on and i touched amp with wrench causing a spark immediately shut car down but got a burnt smell. Protect light greens on but goes and stays off amp has power but pushing nothing to one bass speaker that was already hooked up and was working. Im hoping its an easy fix but i need suggestions.

Afraid you may have blown an amplifier. If you have a AC voltmeter, audio generator and schematic, you can feed audio signal into unit and track the signal on both channels during amplification stages.and locate the spot where the amplification stops or one channel deviates from the other. And there is your culprit.

I have 2 MA Audio HK 15 X 2 subs and voice coils are blown. How do I fix them

There is little chance that you can do anything about it. The exact voice coil would have to be identified, the old ones taken out, and replacing them is technically difficult/impossible without the proper tools and experience.

Help with code radio for my nissan pp2787h

The radio code is a security feature that's meant to deter theft, and it's unique to each vehicle. If you've lost your code, you'll need to contact a Nissan dealership or service center and provide proof of ownership. They should be able to help you retrieve the code. Please do not attempt to use codes from the internet as incorrect attempts may lock your radio.

Unfortunately, no one knows or is telling. Companies rarely state power in RMS because Peak Power is a much more impressive. 1000 watt amp, 200 watts RMS x 2 channels at 8 ohms. Look for a sticker on the unit. https://www.google.com/search?q=Xplore+Amp+5553 ..
