Would like to know how to download prog recorded
can't... FCC says your not aloud because you may break copyright laws.
that usb port on the dvr only has power... no data. you can use it to charge your phone or power a little fan... thats about it.
sorry

I HAVE A MOTOROLA DCT3416 i THAT HAS BEEN UPDATED
WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?
Nope, not the hard drive. you wouldn't be able to pause at all. Its your remote...
try simple things like checking to see if your in the right mode. (what lights up on your remote when you push buttons?)
IMO if you swap the box you will have the same problem. try a different remote... maybe one from another room.
good luck

I have a Motorola DCT6416
are you sure its not something simple like the remote is in the wrong mode. what lights up on the remote when you push buttons?
what isn't working? the cable box not responding? the tv not responding? nothing?
RCN's motorola code is 002 (actually i think the new remotes may be different), TV code could be anything.
FYI: battery cover on remote sometimes has directions for code search
hope something here helped

I want to transfer a program I saved on my
i don't think so... FCC won't let us be. risk of copyright problems if cable companies let you do that. some motorola cable boxes have usbs but as i understand it they only can be used for powerinf usb devices like fans and do not have any data transfer capabilities.
i may be wrong
good luck

How to switch back from dvd player to tv channels
it will be called "input" or "source" and sometimes on universal remotes it won't work.... the buttons on the TV itself will usually work though....
usual method is to push the button repeatedly till you end up on the correct input. rarely you will need to push it once then use a d-pad to scroll to the proper input.

Motorola DVR DCX3501-M loses power and guide info resets
We call it "flashing 8's" and a lot of things can cause it.
1st one of the signals that the cable provider sends to the box, we call it a "hit", will reset the box and tell it redownload
2nd I find dirty power (poor wiring, UPS or surge protector failing) can send the box spikes of power that make it think it recieved a hit.
3rd could be a problem with your cable signal. signal too high, yes it is possible to have too good a signal. maybe a bad amp in the alley behind your place or on your building. (any neighbors having trouble?)
4th maybe its a bad box.... gotta go bad sometime.
good luck

Motorola DCT6200 DVR. Can't find the serial
I don't think the DCT6200 is a DVR (digital video recorder)
***no pause live tv and no record for play back later***
if there is no sticker try getting into the debug menu:
1) turn everything on as if it was working and your watching it
2) turn just the cable box off (not the tv) and begin mashing ok or select (however its labled) over and over
3) use the d-pad to select number 5 (i think) and push ok or select
5) your serial number is just below the middle of the list
you can use your cable remote or the buttons on the box to do these steps. I usually find it easier to use the buttons on the box
good luck
