First thing is to manually drive it and verify there is no stiction in the mechanism. Most driven systems not ONLY look at limit switches, but time out to turn off the motor should a limit switch fail to work. If switches are showing readings that are not good, try putting some CRC226 available at Home Depot elect dept in the switches. It is a moisture displacer for electrical purpose. The F2 error code is telling you that the oven temperature has exceeded 590 degrees with the door unlocked or 990 degrees with the door locked. The electronic range control (ERC) senses the oven temperature by the resistance of the oven temperature sensor. As the temperature goes up the resistance of the sensor increases and the ERC converts the resistance to degrees. Sometimes sensor fails and gives high or low resistance readings. Sometimes the ERC fails and calculates the temperature wrong. Sometimes a relay on the ERC sticks and the temperature goes too high. Sometimes there is a bad connection between the sensor and the ERC causing high resistance and the ERC thinks the temperature has gone too high.

There is a issue with the circuit that connects the element. I would remove the element and clean the connections it goes into. You can actually test these using a fluke if you have one. Try cleaning the connectors if this doesnt work it maybe time to look into a new stove cause it sounds like there is a electrical short somewhere that doesnt have a good clean connection.

We just exeperienced a similar problem with our dacor oven, and we had to have the touch pad replaced.
