Not sure what kind you have but most of the gas grills now have a slot for the rod and bolt holes to hold the motor to the grill if not the motor can swing back and forth and the weight will pretty much keep it in place ,but like I said they usually have bolt holes . They aren't set up for smokers though ,you'd have to rig it up by yourself if you are handy with a drill lol

if the fuse is to run the blower fan then investigate a seized blower motor

the blower is a rotary flange and has its own power. turn it off or reset the thermostat.
