Noisey like a bearing going out. can i replace fan

Modern air conditioners do not allow 'bearings to be changed.'

These days - you can't even 'oil' them (as in the old days).

Basically, when bearings go out - you have to replace the motor.

Be 'sure' it is a bearing noise and not the fan blade hitting the unit.

Also - it's possible (but not likely) that it's the bearings in the compressor making the noise.

If you're not sure - you will need to run the fan by itself. Just turn the switch to "FAN ONLY." If it still makes the noise then it's the fan.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes it blows cold, sometimes it doesnt.

The coils that are located right behind the filter need to be cleaned extremely well. You can purchase a spray from your local hardware dealer that can clean the coils. Also, rinse the fins at the back side of the unit as well. Dirty units can cause this to happen. If you clean it and it continues, you have developed a refrigerant leak. Since window units are so inexpensive today, it is not cost effective to hire someone to come out and find and repair it. Hope this is of help to you.

My Frigidaire ac wall unit model FRA144HT2 has a humming sound after powering off and randomly starts humming hours after pushing the reset button

A humming sound coming from your Frigidaire AC wall unit after it has been powered off could be due to a few different reasons. I can provide some potential explanations and troubleshooting steps to consider:
  • FAN MOTOR
  • THERMOSTATE DELAY
  • ELECTRICAL ISSUE
  • REFRIGERANT FLOW
  • OTHER MECHANICAL ISSUES

How do I change temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit on Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator, model EPTWFU01?

EPTWFU01 is the water filter part number. It isn't the model number of the refrigerator. Please check the model number. Often the model number is on the back of the refrigerator. Not all models support changing the temperature units. If your refrigerator has a button labeled C/F. Try pressing that to toggle back to Fahrenheit. On another model, FG4H2272UF, press and hold the + and - keypads on the refrigerator side of the control panel for 5+ seconds. One Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator is the GLHS36EJSB. The support page is https://support.frigidaire.com/Owner-Center/Product-Support/GLHS36EJSB . The current link to the manual for this model is https://na2.electroluxmedia.com/Original/Electrolux/Electrolux%20Assets/Document/Complete%20Owners%20Guide/English/241856000en.pdf . This model doesn't allow the units to be changed. The documentation for FG4H2272UF is available here: https://support.frigidaire.com/Owner-Center/Product-Support/FG4H2272UF . See the page 15 of the manual, https://na2.electroluxmedia.com/Original/Electrolux/Electrolux%20Assets/Document/Complete%20Owners%20Guide/English/A10883135en.pdf , for the information above. I hope this helps. Please add a comment with your refrigerator's actual model number for specific directions for toggling between degrees C and degrees F. Cindy Wells

Window ac/heater freezes up when using the heater?

This is likely due to a lack of airflow. Make sure that the air filter is clean and that there are no obstructions blocking the air intake or exhaust vents. If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to have a technician come out and inspect the unit for any other potential issues.

Not 100%certain to what styrofoam you are referring to but there is definitely styrofoam components inside the machine. The entire drain pan is made of styrofoam, I would not touch it.

Mine is doing the same but it's very moldy and dirty. It worked well when we used it for the first month when we moved into our Gma's house. She left the unit. It's old yes but it worked fine before. I have a Frigidaire FGH2272UF and want to change from centigrade to fahrenheit? Help

Here are some videos, but it looks by doing a search on that model, that you can't change it. Having said that, the manual shows both, but perhaps that is for display. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1581184/Frigidaire-Fg4h2272uf.html?page=13#manual Videos https://www.google.com/search?q=Frigidaire+FGH2272UF+change+from+centigrade+to+fahrenheit This search forces your model to be featured https://www.google.com/search?q=Frigidaire+%22FGH2272UF%22+change+from+centigrade+to+fahrenheit It doesn't appear to be in the manual. Centigrade is much easier. Fridge at 3'C and Freezer at minus 18'C. Freezing is 0' and boiling is 100'. You can hang an American thermometer inside. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1581184/Frigidaire-Fg4h2272uf.html .. ..
