My compressor continues to run even when I turn unit off. It runs in all settings as well. Is this a control board issue?

Hello David Forgey, thanks for your post!

Based off the information you have provided the compressor within your Frigidaire air conditioner continues to run when turned off and in different settings. It could be an issue within your control panel or a problem within the wiring harness. I would perform a reset on your air conditioner by unplugging the power cord for ten minutes. If that does not correct the issue you may want to consult with professional technician for proper repairs. Hope this helps. -Matt

WHAT IS ERROR CODE H5 FOR A FRIGIDAIRE HEAT/COOL WINDOW UNIT?

Thank you for your inquiry, Angela Babin!

From my understanding your Frigidaire air conditioner is displaying an error code "H5". Normally, the error code "H5" stands for heater thermistor error. I would recommend performing a reset on your air conditioner by unplugging it for ten minutes. If that does not help correct the error code it could be a possible problem with your thermistor or control board. I hope this is helpfully. -Matt

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire air conditioner, FAZ08HS1A, is not heating up or changing fan speeds. From what you are describing it sounds like a potential problem with the control board or sensor. Where is there a drain hole for the water?

Your Frigidaire window unit is the same as any other window unit. Typically window unit air conditioners don't have a drain. This is why you have to make sure the back of the unit (the end that goes outside) is slightly lower than the front when you put it in a window. When it gets so high with water it drains out the back onto the ground.

What is the starfoam for in my airconditionar for?

Hey friend, thanks for your inquiry!

The sytrofoam inside the air conditioner is part of the duct work and it also helps to hold colder temperatures. The new air conditioners do not have drain holes but instead recycle the water inside your appliance to help cool the internal components. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Why does it starts up then shuts off and all the lights start blinking

Hey friend, I appreciate your post!

I see that your Frigidaire air conditioner will start up then shut off and blink. It could possibly an issue with control panel or the power source of the appliance. I would attempt to perform a reset on the air conditioner which would be removing the plug and pressing the "Test" button, you will hear a click and the button will pop out. Then press the "Reset" button, you will hear another click then plug the appliance in. Those are the steps to resetting your air conditioner, if that does not successfully correct the problem please reply back. I look forward to your response. -Matt

What is os code

Good Morning Friend, thank you for question! I see that your post is listed under Frigidaire air conditioners and that you are receiving an error code OS. In order to better assist you, I would need your model number please. The serial tag, which lists your model number, is typically located behind the front grill by the air outlet or on the inside of the cabinet. Other possible locations for the tag on a room air conditioner is on the front edge of the chassis base or behind the dial plate of the control panel. If you have a split air conditioner, try checking on either the front or outer appliance on the right side of the cabinet. Thank you and I look forward to your response! - Z

My portable air conditioner won't cool.

First determine if the pump/compressor is working. If not, there's your problem. Needs repair done by a shop. Well, really, only a shop should be repairing Ac units due to certificatios, equipment and EPA refrigerant recovery regulations. Sorry. -Ned_
