How do we get at

There is no belt in a Hoover SteamVac. The brushes are turned by an air driven turbine. If the brushes are not turning, it is usually because the turbine has seized up and may need replacement. Insert a screwdriver into the square hole that the pin on the brush assembly normally fits into and see if it turns. If it doesn't, you will need a new turbine.

your belt is probably brokan. underneath the machine you will see some screws carefully take them out writing down which screw went where. than you can pop the plate off and look in there and see if your belt is brokan. If it is the belt number is important to find in your book that came with the machine. hope this helps you.

UNPLUG THE UNIT FROM THE WALL.

Attaching The Hose
  1. Open Hose Connection Port (Figure A).
  2. Insert Short Hose End, Matching the tabs on the hose with the same-sized slots in the connection port.
  3. Plug Hose into Port and twist to lock it in place.
  4. Plug the solution Tube that protrudes of the suction hose into the solution connection port (Figure B)

Removing the Hose
  1. Squeeze Latches (Figure C) on top and bottom of the hose. Remove hose from port. Close the Hose port door.

My Hoover steam vac dual

This is a common problem with the earlier models which had a separate soap tank glued to the clean water tank. The plastic was too thin beneath the valve on the clean water side and would develop cracks. You most likely will need a new one piece tank. ( Part # 42272104)
