Have you tried just swapping the HDD into the new computer? The hardware might be similar enough for that to work.
Personally I would collect my files onto a flash drive, and start with a fresh install of the operating system on the x61. It will run much faster with a fresh install.
Hi,
This issue is clearly hardware and might be related to 3 part, Inverter card, LCD cable or LCD Panel ( Or systemboard, just to make sure try with an external display if the issue reproduce it's systemboard/graphic card related, if not LCD related ).
If you are still entitled to warranty then this hardware failure is covered by the terms. You should have the 3 parts stated below replaced as it s a common issue with Thinkpads.
In case you are out of warranty cover you still can try to subscribe to a warranty extension, you can check on www.lenovo.com , otherwise you might want to order theses parts on a website such as ebay.
To swap the pieces requires quiet advanced skills as you have to take down the whole computer, obviously LCD Panel included.
Unfortunalty this is hardware related, not much you can do...
I hope this help !
Thanks and have a nice day !

there's actually a good chance that this could be a virus. I would just close it and run your installed antivirus software. If you do not have any antivirus software, check out go to google and do a search for AVG. It's free and does a pretty good job.
download comodo internet security and scan your system. you have spyware/malware on your system. Don't download what it is telling you to, because it wants you to purchase their program, comodo is free.
yes you can buy the connector at any shop it will be an svideo cable to avi (red yellow white) or a monitor cable(the blue connection prolly on the back of the computer) to avi or rgb (hd)
When your cursor is moving, while you don't touch your mose, check if the underside is completely clean. And with a wireless mouse, please put your phone somewhere else, not to close to the computer. Then let us know if it helps.
You can get an adapter cable that will fit into the tablet's USB port. It's called an OTG cable. With that, you can hook up cellphones, digital cameras, thumb drives, SD card readers and many more things. The best way to do that would be to get an adapter OTG cable and a card reader. You can also transfer it to a computer and then to the SD card. If you don't have a card reader most digital cameras will work as one. Hook the camera to a ps and look for it in my computer folder. (works on macs also) and opens it. There you can put any file on the SD card. If using an OTG adapter to just hook it to the device's USB port and go to your file manager app. I would recommend an app called ES File Explorer. it makes it simple to find files on Android devices. Once you locate the drive (usually it's called USBDRIVEA) just transfer the music. Here is a link to a video that will help. I take no credit of video.
Hi,
please attempt to use another internet source before attempt to access the app store on your tablet. This can be either ethernet or tablet. If this fails, please restart your tablet once or twice. Otherwise, you might need to transfer antivirus apps via usb into your tablet, install/run those and then attempt to access your app store again.
Thank you.
Go to Settings and choose Default Applications. You should be able to see the list of all of the apps which you have set as default. The only thing you have to do is click on "clear" and it will delete the unwanted setting.
Google Play Services, the preinstalled app on your phone plays an extremely crucial role in the regular running of your lenvono. If anything is wrong with it, then your lenovo will start throwing fits in the form of errors and crashes including 'Google Play Services keeps stopping' error.
To remove the error, you need to fix Play Services. Here you will find numerous ways to fix any issue related to Play Services. Let's get to know them.
1 Starting with, will actually with restarting you Lenovo.
2 Another that does wonders for any issue is to "clear the cache" and date of the particular app. In this case, we need to clear cache and data for "Google Play Services" and "Google Play Store".
Doing any of that will not delete any data from your phone. However, clearing data will log you out from Play Store and reset its settings. In settings
3 "Google Play Services" is a system app, you cannot remove it from your lenovo completely. However, you can uninstall the updates, which will revert it to the factory version forcing your phone to update it automatically, thus fixing any issue.
On the Google Play Services screen, tap on the "three-dot" icon at the top-right corner. Select Uninstall updates from the menu.
4 Unlike other installed apps, you don't have to update Google Play Services manually. It's done automatically in the background by your lenovo.
However, sometimes, the issue is with the update itself. So you need to update it to the newer or older version manually. We have covered ots of ways to update google play service in detail. Do check that. And if you face any issue while updating it, check fixes.
6 Similar to restart, sometimes booting in the safe mode fixes various issues on an Android phone. Again, doing that will not delete you data and you can access it in safe mode as well. Running the lenovo in safe mode also helps in identifying the issues caused by the third-party apps.
I hope these will get you over your issue with ease.
Check the Battery charging mode. The device can only charge through the power adapter and may have shifted into the USB charging. If it shows USB charging, do the following.
Remove the USB connector from the Tab device and AC adapter from wall power outlet (Must need to remove both the ends).
Reconnect the USB cable and AC adapter to wall unit. Now check the charging mode, it shows charging with AC. Now the device can charge as normal condition.
If however it shows USB charging, do this step again by disconnecting the ports and reconnecting until you see the AC charging mode for Battery.
If the mode was correct, I'd test the charger unit for 5+ volts. It's possible it died.
