most remotes come with a slip of paper that either has codes, or the controller has a code search button. each controller its different. using the manual, find out the make and model of the TV compare it with the given list. enter the codes one by one until your tv responds. Or you can use the instructions to figure out how to use the code search. usually with code search you stand in front of the tv and keep alternating between two buttons until the TV reacts, then lock in the code.

You need the code for the TV for it to work it. If it isn't in the code book given with the remote you will have to repost with the tv model number and ask for the code, or search online for it. Remember you might need to try all the codes for that brand as some might work some functions and others not. Not heard of Digitrex before, so might be made by another firm. If you find that out maybe there codes will work it?

So the remote that came with the TV was the RC-1077E?The only way you can get into the options you mentioned now is that you are going to have to use the buttons on the TV itself.They can be on any 1 of the four sides.I have seen them everywhere.We have to do the same with our JVC.They are pretty much the same button options as the original remote.Menu,volume,channel etc. Good luck! Always post the exact model number of your remote if you expect a sensible reply. I recommend you go to the manufacturer's website for the latest code settings. Since there is no such thing as a 'universal' remote, you may not find what you need.

If the batteries have leaked and the chemicals are inside the remote, get a new one.
If the connections are corroded very bad, get a new remote.
If the connections are a bit corroded, they can be cleaned with a Q-tip and 99% alcohol. Clean the contact face with emery cloth (Fine).
If the remote still does not work, get a new one.
