HPM2727mfp - Printer Freezes or Randomly Restarts
The popular school of though is that the Formatter (CC370-60001) board causes the printer "to Freeze","Hang"or "Restart". I have repaired many of these printers, for this very problem by replacing this board. It may be possible to "bake" the board in an oven. The solder joints on these boards being the most likely cause. I do not recommend the easy bake oven repair.
It may be possible to have this printer repaired under an HP Extended Warranty Thru Mar 23, 2010

HPM2727mfp - Scanner Error 5 - Scanner Error 8
These errors indicate a problem with the flatbed scanner assembly. The flatbed is no longer able to initialize or find home position. The scanner may move back and forth continually and the light flicker at a high rate of speed. The flatbed scanner will need to be serviced/changed. The part required is CB532-67905
