Can I save a scanned image using MP610?

Yes. PIXMA MP610 is a multifunction printer that has printer/copier/scanner capabilities.
Just install the software and drivers supplied with your printer (or download them from CANON ) and connect the printer do the computer.
The printer sofware will guide you through the operation of scanning an image and saving it to a a file in the computer.
Below is a link to CANON product support pages, from where you can dowload the software and drivers for the printer and also guides and manuals.

Paper misfeeds inside the printer

I followed the advice of one of the posters by removing the paper and putting through a sheet of photo paper through the copier. When I noticed that the blockage was a small pebble-ish object, I poked at it with a long knife and then the photo paper helped to push it through. That did the trick!

Printer error 6000

6000 says the paper feed is not able to roll. Either something has fallen in to stop the rollers, or the encoder on the left hand side is too dirty to see the marks on the wheel.

Error: print head not installed. Install print head

Make sure the contacts on the carriage assy. where the printhead sits are clean also. If your printer is still under warranty it will be repaired free of charge, if not, it sounds like you may need a new printhead. The part number for the printhead is printed on one side, it's always a qy6- number followed by 2 sets of 3 numbers each.

I have a severe paper jam from the cassette

Your best bet is to take the cover off. Once it is off, you will have better access to the paper that is stuck. If you can access the gears on the side, you can turn them manually to help move the jammed paper along, otherwise, a long set of forceps or needle nose pliers may come in handy.

Good luck!

Showing printer error 6A00

I just copy this solution for you to this link:

the solution is posted by BAB..

they have the same problem as you ..then this solution solve it..^^

http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/39177

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

Printerhead is not installed.

What you will need to keep in mind is that the ink cartridge contains liquid ink, once opened, can and will evaporate. First, wash you hands with soap and water to remove excess finger/hand oils. Use a clean, moist, paper towel, make sure you ring out the excess water from the paper towel before you begin. Remove cartridge, gently wipe the towel over the contact's pad, and the nozzel tip. Use a dry towel, and patt dry, reinstall. and run an alignment pattern test.
Note: If you do not see an ink trail on the paper towel, The Ink has dried up, and you will need to but a new cartridge.
Note: do not touch the Cartridge GOLD contacts, with your fingers, finger OIL will clog the jet pours, and cause them to corrode.

My Canon MP610 printer suddenly isn't scanning well.

I fixed it!  My small black ink cartridge was out of ink.  I replaced it and 'Walla!' it worked just fine.  Who would have thought that would make the difference?

When connected to Airport Express via USB, it will

Airport Express provides only a print server, not a networked usb hub so it can only print. I'm afraid you'll have to go back to wired for scanning.

Will a USB2.0 port installed after purchase support Pixma MP610?

Somebody might have been confused or perhaps there is was a different issue as well. USB 2.0 is backward compatible. The printer should work on either, but with decreased performance on the USB 1.0. The USB 2.0 PCI card is a true USB upgrade no matter your original config. Make sure your PC otherwise meets the min requirements for the printer.

Canon Pixma MP610 custom paper size problem

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
