its all fault of cartriedge, just replace the them.

go to the canon website (listed below) - under Tech Support - click on Technical FAQ's (this will pop up another small window)
then click on Search by Key Word
next - type in error 5100 and click on the circle next to - Include all words and hit Search
next - click on the link with your answer "how to.... "

Its the printhead that makes the lines and i think it will be cheaper buying new printers!

Hmmm 4 this problem you can take the cartridge out and reinstall the software and then put the cartridge back

powe off your printer & refix your catridge.again the printer on.

1. If your MP830 is plugged into a power surge / power strip, power off/on the strip.

2. Plug the MP830 directly into the outlet.

3. Disconnect the power cord and wait 5 minutes before connecting

4. Replace the MP830 printer power cord.

5. Have the MP830 serviced.

If your printing from Windows, when the print dialogue box comes up look for the option number of copies. Change that to the specified number you want to print out and then hit print.

Should be a small arrow next to glass to tell you, usually right or left front corner on Canon

it is saying that your ink is getting low, or make sure the ink cartridges are clipped into printer properly, welcome
