connect the printer to a computer with usb cable

insall the CD that came with the printer

restart your system

- install the printer software on your computer - Add printer hardware on your computer - plug in firewire to paired them

Your problem might be your ink level it will fade because the ink level is almost empty and needs replacement.

did you mean that even the cartridge place was new, no ink came out of its printhead? maybe the ink cartridge is defective. if it says that your CL-41 has run out, press reset/paperfeed button for 5-10 seconds to reset the cartridge. hope to be of help.

do a head cleaning and head alignment. also check the way your printer prints may something is in the way of the printing and paper path. hope to be of help.

2. CHANGE USB PORT change into CANON PORT
3. click lock release
4. click ip1800
5. click device id
6. clear waste ink counter by clicking MAIN & PLATEN
7. Check EEPROM Box
8. Click EEPROM Dump
9. Test pattern 1
10. Your Done…

what error message coming from your computer...i think something stuck inside your printer

good day.. have you bought a new ink cartridge? are those not refilled?. if you had a new cartridge then try re installing your printer software for it malfunction sometimes. just follow the steps carefully and everything will be back to normal. hope this helps, have a nice day

check the settings to insure your aren't printing in "Draft" mode

go to the canon website (listed below) - under Tech Support - click on Technical FAQ's (this will pop up another small window)
then click on Search by Key Word
next - type in error 5100 and click on the circle next to - Include all words and hit Search
next - click on the link with your answer "how to.... "

Battery inside, If your technical , take out batery for an hour and put back. Printer reset and is ok.
