I get a message to replace toner, i replaced and still get the messag

You may want to try the following steps:
  • Step 1 - First turn on your printer: Brother MFC 9840CDW.
  • Step 2 - Push the button on the front of the printer to open the cartridge cover or the front panel of the printer where you can access the toner cartridges. However, do not remove the toner cartridges (Brother TN-115).
  • Step 3 - Push the Clear/Back button and hold still to bring up a reset menu. There are 8 different toner functions ( two Black, two Cyan , two Magenta, and two Yellow).
  • Step 4 - For each of the eight functions in turn, push the O.K. button and then push it again to indicate 'Reset'. After a few seconds, it will say 'Accepted' and will then display a message that the cover is open.
  • Step 5 - Repeat the steps 3 and 4 for each of the other eight toner functions as needed.
  • Step 6 - Once your finished, close the front cover of your printer so the status bar will be reset to normal with no error message.
  • Also, you may want to clean the corona wires for each toner. Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right and right to left several times.

Blue tint won't go away

Clean the Drum and Tray, Toner tends to spill out some when carts are changed. Also go through the whole cleaning listed on the MFC and many sites online.

Brother MFC-9840CDW. I have just put in a new

Two things to try out.Probably the easiest thing to do is to check the printer driver settings on your computer. Your printer driver has the option of printing in color or exclusively mono (black and white). Since your printer is printing, but only in mono or black mode, it seems like the printer driver would be the first place to start. Secondly, it is possible through the web interface for the printer to specify that the output color is Auto, Color or B&W. It's possible you might have inadvertently changed this while you were resetting your machine after installing the replacement parts. (one can also do this through the Menu settings)Go to the web interface by typing into your web browser http://xx.xx.xx.xx, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of your printer. You may need to logon to the printer through the web interface. I believe the default password is access. You should find an option for Printer Settings. Mine is in the right hand column near the top, Click on that link. You might also try typing in the following link where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of your printer. http://xx.xx.xx.xx/fax/printermain.html?id=outputcolorThe leftmost tab for the Printer Settings is Output Color. Make sure that Output Color is set to Auto rather than B&W. If it is set to B&W, you will not be able to print in color.Hope this helps you out.

Printing nothing

Do you still have some toner in the cartridge? The last time the printer was working correctly, did you noticed that the text/images where light? When you make a color print, do you have something on the page?

The guy that replied solved the problem. He rocks and I can't believe that brother does have a large posting on this issue. Sham on them:
ben2913 did the job "This is NOT the solution to this error code. The code is telling you that the Corona wire must be cleaned. Remove all 4 color drums. Look down into the tray that you removed them from and you will see 4 green tabs. Open the plastic cover that protects the corona wire and move the green tab back and forth several times. After you have done this with all 4, reinstall the drums, close the machine front and everything will work fine again."
