Here's the process:
1) Make sure that the printer is turned on. Open the front cover. 2) Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly 3) Push down the green lock lever and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit. 4) Be sure to seal up the toner cartridge tightly in a suitable bag so that toner powder does not spill out of the cartridge. 5) Unpack the new toner cartridge. Hold the cartridge level with both hands and gently rock it from side to side five or six times to spread the toner evenly inside the cartridge. 6) Pull off the protective cover. 7) Put the new toner cartridge firmly into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place. If you put it in properly, the lock lever will lift automatically. 8) Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from right to left and left to right several times. 9) Put the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back in the printer. Close the front cover.

Disconnect the printer from the computer and click on start and then go to run and type in cmd and hit enter,a black colored window will come up,type in net stop spooler and hit enter and again type in net start spooler and hit enter and tehn type in exit and hit enter.Now try to cancel the document.Whne it is done,connect the printer back to the computer and reboot both the machines. Still if it doesn't work then you can try by restarting the spooler services. Let me know if it has resolved the issue

Open the front cover, remove the toner/drum cartridge.
Open the rear cover, look for a jam lever you can press down then remove the paper from the back.

If you try to pull the paper out through the front you can damage the gear system.

Use both hands to try and limit the possibility of tearing the paper.

mine is doing the same thing. brother said it meant a fuse was bad, but i took it apart and the fuses are all good.... :(

As you haev changed the router password, you need to connect the printer again to the network. Run the network setup wizard from the printer's menu.

Unplug it and plug it back in to "reboot" the machine.

This indicates a Service Call Error. Turn printer OFF, wait a few
seconds and then the printer ON. If the alarm continues, perform a
factory reset:
1. Turn the printer OFF.

2. Check that the front cover is closed.

3. Turn ON the power switch while holding down the GO button.

4. Check the Toner/Drum/Paper LED#s are lit.

5. Release the GO button and check that all LED#s are off.

6. Press the GO button eight times.

7. The printer settings will be reset to factory default.

8. The printer will then initialize and return to Ready status.

If the problem continues and the printer has a one year limited exchange
warranty. If the printer is in warranty, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) for warranty options.

You need to open the front cover of the machine and remove the cartridge (drum and toner) On the top right there is a tab that you need to slide from left to right about 20 times, then bring back to home position

Go to START MENU
Choose Commamd prompt, right click mouse and run as administrator (You should be in this command C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32- If not type this command when you in the dos command prompt "CHDIR C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEMS32\ and press enter
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C: drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer and must also turn off your printer and then switch it on.
It will work fine right now

make sure the connection and cables are proper and working.

install the printer driver with the original cd.

just open the front cover and then remove the Drum/toner assembly together.

clean a drum unit with a soft and dry cloth/material like a tissue .
and be careful when u clean it. if it isn't work. it's mean lifetime is over.

remove the paper first, try not to pull hard, try to rip the paper slowly by pcs to remove everything

You probably need to replace the cartridge. Hope that helps.

You can remove the jammed paper by removing the drum and toner inside the printer.
First Open the front cover, just pull down the cover right above the brother logo. You will see the handle for the drum and toner. Hold the handle and pull it towards you, just use a little force on it. Then remove the jammed paper inside. Just to be sure you can remove the toner from the drum by holding down the green tab on the side of the drum unit. then pull the toner out. Check if there's a small piece of paper inside the drum unit. Put the toner back to the drum make sure it clicks into place. Reinstall the drum and toner back to the printer. It should also click into place. Then close the cover.

The Brother HL-2140 does not include duplex printing. The only option for double sided printing with this model is to print odd numbered pages, then manually replace the paper into the tray and print the even numbered pages in a second set.

If you have random blotches on both sides of the sheet, your printer probably needs cleaning, especially in the fuser section. If the fuser is difficult to get at, here's a good cheat developed for HP LaserJet 6 printers: Use a basic graphics program such as Microsoft Paint to draw three solid black rectangles about 2.5" top to bottom, going all the way across the paper (the space in between is not critical - the key is that you go as close to edge-to-edge as you can get). Print out this sheet.

Put the sheet back in the paper tray so it will print on the blank side (usually printed side up). Open up a quick text processor (Notepad in Windows). Type a single space, then print (some text editors won't print a document with no data in it). Dirt in the fuser will get stuck to the black areas on your cleaning sheet. Test your work by printing another copy of " ". Repeat with a new cleaning sheet if necessary.
